@evidentialist and @TheMIddleWay I agree with @Crimson67. There is way to much 'public' that should remain private. You'd think we could act more 'adult like', but obviously the maturity of some has not yet arrived. This sort of public flogging really gets on my nerves and makes me want to quit this group and the Senate group as well. If you can't/won't/don't communicate with someone, then block them and move on. I believe people make this a public concern when the real answer is block and report. Do you/they just do it for points? Grow up. Make some decisions yourself and get off this bandwagon!

KevinTwining comments on Jun 11, 2018:
The tips of helicopter rotor blades. That ‘whop, whop, whop’ sound is repeated sonic booms. Meteors, but too far up for us to hear. Usually. Space craft launch vehicles, once they’ve got up to speed, but usually drowned out by engine roar. Fighter aircraft and some missiles. ...

AstralSmoke replies on Jun 11, 2018:
@Chars Bears won't bother you as long as you don't offer them food. If you see one and are scared, bang some pots together or something similar. They usually run away. I've seen tons of bears, even came face-to-face with one when I was younger. It was searching the garbage cans for food. It's name was Scare Face.
This was taken at US Hwy 27 construction site in Chattanooga, TN. The perspective is a little off.

In the US, the week begins on Sunday. In Germany the week begins on Monday. Guess it just depends on how you want to divide this weird concept.

Black bears are more of a nuisance in the Smokys than anything else. If you go to an actually camp site, lock your food in your car. If you go primitive you'll need to tie your food in a tree.

Unless Trump screws it up Kim wants to end the cease fire with a truce. I think that the South Korean leader is savvy enough to make it work. Trump is so unpredictable who knows what will happen? Not Drumpf. Not his staff.

Is that fencing there to prevent the brick wall from falling apart, such as we see on mountain sides from a highway that was built into the mountain?
AstralSmoke replies on Jun 10, 2018:
No. The wall is coming down, just hopefully not today. I constructed some plant supports and leaned one against the brick wall while I constructed another one. While I was working on the second one I noticed the patterns etc against the wall. Thought it might be an interesting photo.

Hi. I read you live in Chattanooga. I had a friend who worked for NPS as a ranger and lived at the top of Lookout Mountain. Dennis Curry is his name. Do you happen to know him? If so tell me how he and his wife are. We used to work together as TN rangers. Thanks.
AstralSmoke replies on Jun 10, 2018:
The name sounds familiar, but so do a lot of names. I'll look into whether anyone in the family knows him.

Americans of English descent should not delve too much into their ancestry lest they learn that their ancestors were transported to the new world in lieu of being hung for some criminal offense.

@bigpawbullets We have several yuccas growing, but I've never seen a hummingbird attracted to them. Penstemon! Butterflies and other insects don't seem to be as picky as hummingbirds. Thanks for the info.
Well I"m finally finish planting, and I got a nice rain today, which is just what the garden needed.
AstralSmoke comments on Jun 10, 2018:
Do you grow tobacco too?
AstralSmoke replies on Jun 10, 2018:
@kenriley I grew corn here in Chattanooga for two years. I had to put wire cages over my seeds because the squirrels and chipmunks would eat the seed. Once they grew ears, the crows would eat it. I've given up on corn until I can get my (small) garden covered in a cage.
