The establishment of Darwin's time, mostly the church, knew that his theory blew huge holes in the old testament of their holy book and refuted his scientific approach and some still do to this day. Perspectives is a difficult call, we have strictly observed social distancing here for nearly 2 months, having little or no contact with others is strange but bearable. I find myself adjusting to our new (and hopefully temporary) normal to the point where I feel quite content and ready to continue even if restrictions are lifted. I'd say 15% difference, that being lack of contact with people I normally enjoy interaction and conversation and don't have contact details for!

The one thing imprinted in my mind was my mothers patience, kind nature and uncomplaining attitude! Being of a time when mothers were allowed to be mothers exclusively and not expected to work to supplement the family income, made an enormous difference, It's a great shame that we cannot revert to those great days!

Clearly financial motives, the decision process is in the hands of politicians, none of whom want to be blamed for an economic down slide, there lies the problem, the vacuum that has been seen between the facts being received and action being taken, has been used for "evaluating" the political damage versus the social, a mistake that scientists would not have made, their advice was ignored for too long!

The most striking thing for me, having gone through the comments bellow, is the polarization that Donald Trump has created in American society, the fact that some still feel he is viable as a president is testament to the utter stupidity of his staunch supporters. A great president would surely unite his nation against all adversaries and would protect his people from any harm, not divide the people with sham political divisions and financial considerations!

Having been born in Birmingham England in 1955, I have never met an American Indian but can sympathize with your portrayal. There were many Asians and West Indies children at my primary school, one of my most enduring memories of that time was the first snow one winter, the immigrant kids had never experienced it and were dancing around the playground catching snow in their mouths, a wonderful sight. Racism was rife at this time amongst adult whites, I never understood why, I just kept that lovely memory of my chums being happy!
