Technically this is right, in the true sense of the word. It even has common usage in this vein: “pray tell...” Substituting wish for “pray” basically means the same thing. If I wish you a speedy recovery or pray for your speedy recovery, am I not saying the same thing? The explanation is fairly simple. Humans are programmed, like many other mammals, to be led. Be it Lemmings or Chimps, gorillas or Buffalo. Humans have an innate need for a leader, and those leaders are chosen for a variety of reasons, each individual having their own criteria, but able to find those who share their needs. From Roman Caesar’s to Jesus, Kings to Hitler. These were in the light of knowledge not nice people, but had devoted followers willing to sacrifice their lives and fortunes to maintain their leader. Stalin received complete adulation from his supporters even though they were at constant risk of attracting his wrath, to be executed or sent off to die in Siberia, for some minor infraction. What makes poor people want to donate money they can ill afford to these mega churches in support of their preachers lavish lifestyles? Why do people obsess over movie stars, or musicians who are not always good people? It is a human trait that we all have to one extreme or another. Trumplicans are no different. He is a knowledgeable TV star in the art of attracting attention and using that to his benefit.

It may have influenced it certainly, since most education at the time was heavily attached to various churches and religions. That doesn't make it the basis of the Constitution, since the writers were extremely careful to deliberately avoid any reference to gods or the Bible in the original text and went out of their way to disassociate the law from religion with the Bill of Rights. But trying to get that through the head of a believer is like trying to get them to explain how animals from around the world somehow managed to find their way to Babylonia when the world flooded, or how the human race was formed from Adam and Eve, who only had sons, leaving Eve the only woman around. Another Nigerian scam! I guess they ran out of model pictures to post online as profile pictures and are trying the wing man approach. It is probably best not to answer at all. If you take the time to replay you go on the maybe list. It hasn't happened lately, but before all the social media started up I was getting the most lovely emails from damsels in distress, who sent me beautiful pictures of themselves and lovely stories. Sometimes I would write to them for a while, just to see how long it took them to ask for money. One wrote back and forth to me for almost a month before suddenly needing financial help to get back to her family. I pretty much stopped online love searching after I almost got jammed with a expensive scam on Foreign Brides.com. A friend of mine met his current wife on there, so I thought I would give it a try. I started to get suspicious about the way things were going and did some online research and found a couple of guys who had lost thousands of dollars to the same scammer. That cured me!
