@Betty It is sad, but I understand that few people are ready or willing to face shit daily from their coworkers in order to make improvements that may never come. I don't judge them for leaving one career for another. I was a teacher for 20 years, and by all accounts pretty good at it. Stull, one really really shitty administrator and I left. I changed careers; I fought him long enough; there was some satisfaction that the board canned him (I may have influenced that more than a little), but, I admitted to insubordination and I wasn't going to publicly apologize. My insubordination was best for the students and the board recognized that. Still, I had enough.

@Ryo1 Being a CO is supposed to be non religious, yet, it really varied by location as to whom was accepted. Back during the draft, one had to go in front of a review board. A friend of mine, being from D.C. where they had a plentiful male population for the snagging (mostly POC) walked in and was rubber stamped- his father had been one in WWII. The draft ended as I turned 18; that said, I doubt I, or any non believers, would have been accepted since Lancaster County Pennsylvania already had a large number of religiously exempt men.

@Flyingsaucesir They did that in the elementary schools. At the HS, the board set a requirement to push intelligent design as a theory- not a requirement to teach it, but to bring it up. Thus the must read statement. There is a book out chronicling the entire disaster. Also, they needed to stress that evolution was a theory. Mars can be used for some things, but long term habitation is not very viable - save the Earth, it's cheaper. The biggest danger on Mars is radiation from the Sun. Mars could be a testing ground for longer space voyages; Mars may have valuable, minable ores. I agree with saving the Earth over the boondoggle of the idea of living on Mars.
