Thre is gun control - for non whites - in this country. Look at the news and at statistics. That said, there are plenty of things that could be done with no constitutional changes needed (note we do not adhere to Hamiltonian interpretations- look them up). We could ban semi automatics and restrict the number of shells in a clip. 40 years ago when I still hunted, the state only allowed me to have three bullets in my gun to deer hunt. We could do like Iceland, or to some extent Finland and Switzerland, and require mandatory training and testing. We could go back to the "old" days when gun owners were held responsible for what are now tragic accidents (nobody wants to fine or imprison a grieving parent). We could do better background checks and keep people with physical violence offenses or domestic violence from obtaining them. It is, and truthfully, a sad commentary when there are supposedly more dangerous places in the world (shitholes) where one feels safer than in safe places in the U.S. The only place I have had a gun held on me (been in Asia, Africa and the Mideast and Mexico/Canada) was in San Diego by a cop. I'm a white male. We did have an illegal fire on the beach - a 25 dollar fine at the time.

Under this president we need to be very very causious about protecting journalism for the future.

If one were to ask, most evangelicals, due to a lack of knowledge, would agree that the U.S. should go back to Puritan standards for abortion. They were, however, for those that don't know, legal up until quickening, which sometimes does not occur until the third trimester.

Not sure what, in your sense, is this sad. I can empathise, having spent much of my life as a depressive. I even spent a year hospitalized. Thus, I would say, if it is too deep that the many good suggestions being posted here, and I still use many, don't help, then it is time to seek professional help. In the end, my main stressor and "problem" was allowing myself to be in an abusive relationship. Everyone has a different story, a different path, and a different needed outcome. For me, life is now good as I have a handle on and control of my situation. I offer this as hope, knowing feeling sad can be a miserable thing. Try what is offered; I suggest going to talk with someone, even a neo professional; and don't be afraid to seek help. (side note: for full disclosure - if you fear or have heard bad things about psych units, all of that comes with an element of truth. Still, I wish and want for you the best and safest life)

The weakening of Planned parenthood has shown, in all statistical data, to increase unwanted pregnancies and then, more abortions. Keeping women pregnant is a good way to keep them down economically, especially when men are not made to pay their fair share. Face it guys, we are 50% of baby making; and with the ease and accuracy of DNA tests, there are NO excuses for not taking responsibility for one's child.

Trying really hard to not post any politics on face book for one week and see what happens.

A specious argument. Marriage or not has nothing to do with child abuse. In fact, the amount of those priests who were pedophiles is not too far off of the national or world average. The secondary crime which allowed the first crime to be epidemic was the silence by and the cover up of the crimes by so many in the church hierarchy. Those crimes allowed criminal priests to continue committing crimes while others looked away and hid the facts from the public. For them, a return to burning at the stake would be too nice; bring out some tools from the Spanish Inquisition and then watch them suffer.
