The current way people are responding makes that look reasonable. I was born in 1955, so, many previously not available vaccines, etc were available. I remember going as a family and waiting in line at a local high school for, I believe, the polio sugar cube (kids loved that, give me more). The only time I ever had a gun held on me was by a cop, in Southern California. Three of us had a small, albeit illegal, fire on the beach, about a 100 yards from where any fire was legal. A cop pulled up, on a rise above us, got out of the passenger side and aimed her gun our way, saying, "don't move, i have back-up coming." The fine for said fire, at the time, was 25 dollars, for only one of the participants. And, I am white. Cops are abusive fucks. Oh, the back-up cop not only did not fine us, he allowed us to keep our "small, orderly" fire.
