My eldest went to xtion church. I was a long time non xtion believer, yet got roped into teaching adult Sunday school - I taught ethics. It was my ex-bro-in-law church. Finally my ex caught up with me and we left. Did the Unitarians for years and still find them a pretty good place (each group is slightly different but all seem tolerant of all thought). My kids are all grown and none consider themselves xtions, etc. Two still identify as lapsed Unitarians while one, since very early childhood, rejected all god. Anyway, best wishes on your journey.

I went to a tent revival. Crying and wailing and gnashing of teeth. Total fubar at 16. How, you may ask did I, an almost intelligent non christian end up there. Easy, I had gone to a friend's house to see him. He wasn't home, but his really cute, actually, pretty hot, cousin who i had never met was. My friend's folks invited me to a "church thing" at some camp an hours drive away. The girl asked me to go so she could have someone of age to speak with. I went. At first, the camp wasn't all too awful and we drifted off into the woods. Had to come back for the tent meeting a couple hours later. That sucked and the girl became one of the crying, sobbing masses. I was worried she might tell her uncle and aunt what we were up to.

I'm not affected. My oldest son's entire work went on partial unemployment including salaried folks like him. He is social work, so once this settles he will most likely be back to doing lots of overtime - that company pays salaried people overtime. My other son is teaching online for Penn State. And, my daughter is waiting to see if a furlough comes as she works for an airline - for her, once things would settle she would be back at work. None are married or have kids, so they actually have money. My daughter and her roommate have a side business but I doubt that is selling much currently.
