When I was in high school I walked into a restroom, near shop class. There were two small groups of people waiting to fight 3 black (almost half of the school population) and 3 white. My entrance stopped things as it was anticipated that I would join the white boys. I said, not so fast, I want to know the reason. I liked 2 of the black guys and 1 of the white guys. Well, one guy had called Mikey the "n" word. I responded he owed Mikey an apology. I continued saying it isn't the same as saying asshole. I left. The fight never happened.
