It did for me . I was a conservative back in the early 80s . Once you travel and see the world and other cultures it allows you to have an informed opinion. I have spent quite a bit of time in sweden and the Americanconservative mis characterization of sweden is amazing. Yes they do have slightly higher taxes, but everyone has access to health care , college tuition is just like high school. Free. Every one who works has six weeks paid taxes. They tend to spend much less on things ... possessions and very few own the huge 3000 plus sqft houses we have. But they travel and live so much more than we do in the usa .
