Guatemalan, but really embarrassed about it (really religious country, full of sexism, corruption, and toxic nationalism).

I come from a fanatic, Catholic family. Whenever I questioned the existence of a god, they were outraged, told me not to question, you name it. When I started college and grasped a better understanding of science and philosophy, I fully abandoned religion. I changed the views my family indoctrinated me regarding abortion and LGBT people as well. Family was and is not happy, and think of me as some kind of monster. When I go away, I really hope I won't see them again, no matter how cruel that statement is. Regarding my career, I'm a biologist hoping to find an internship overseas.
