Wow I guess I am just a recluse. You all talk about going out with friends in groups or taking a friend to an event. Not only don't I have a SO I don't have a best friend. Don't ever have your SO be your best friend. We were always the couple that had been together forever. Evidently all our friends were his friends though. He got them all in the divorce. I'm an introvert so meeting people is very difficult. I do take myself out to eat and out to the movies but that's about it. So yeah, the world is made for couples.

Thanks for the rant you've probably done it for a lot of us. I think it's healthy to get that out in a safe place sometimes. Mostly people are nice, some will have to nit pick. I understand how you feel, I used to sneer at thin women when I finally realized that me sneering and mocking them was as bad as the other way around. I was slender, not skinny, when I was a girl and slowly climbed to my current weight. I'm a fat person, fat is not a four letter word, it's just descriptive unless someone uses it as a weapon. Some men like me because I'm fat, and have umm bountiful assets. Some men don't like me because I'm fat. And some just like me because I'm Nancy. I like those people best. We can't help what shape we are attracted to, probably some childhood thing lol. I personally am attracted to tall dark men. I've never had a relationship with one. My husband of 35 years was short and fair. I fell in love with the person. In any case Lady, I understand how you feel, I truly do. I have no advice to give except try not to dislike people because of their looks. And find someone to give you hugs. I have a platonic friend who gives the best hugs in the world.
