I'm Brian, a Civil Engineer who grew up around Washington DC, then got transferred to Dallas/Milwaukee/Michigan. I always had doubts, but I knew that I wasn't in the Moral Majority, even as a kid. Tried to find a middle ground for years, but tired of having to be "the other perspective" stuck in a Calvinist-leaning place. I take pride in working to build and rebuild our country's infrastructure and design places, even if it's a quiet job at times.
I have an interest in history and am trying to expand my knowledge of the arts and literature as I can to make up for all the time I spent in engineering school and dealing with systems and structures. I'm also working as the single father of my three daughters, one's artistic, one is athletic, the third one is truly herself.
