Budgie comments on May 25, 2020:
Maybe if he had commented about mega churches rather than use race I know that it is the main problem but it seems to be drawing the wrong attention to the issue. Provide examples of where their tithing will go and how much they will be expected to tithe, I mean that is the reason for the church to raise money for the church (or its actual leader)

Does a ovo-vegetarian believe in abortion? hmmmm
Budgie comments on Jun 7, 2020:
The two are completely different issues. I eat eggs, they come from my chickens who roam freely and are taken to a vet if they get ill and all have their own names. Chickens produce eggs even if they are not with a rooster so many eggs are unfertilized. I do not eat eggs when I eat out as they would have come from a battery hen and I oppose that. As far as abortion goes I want women to have access to safe and legal abortions but it is up to each individual person to decide for themselves what they want to do in any situation. I actually joke with people when they say "But you eat eggs that I am not okay with murder but I am fine with abortion." So this ovo-vegetarian agrees with women having access to safe and legal abortions.

Doesn't tend to happen to me. I even once sat by myself (my father was in a brass band I had given him a lift in to a performance and was having a cuppa while I waited) as I could see some nutter trying to work the crowd but I must have been too scary and giving off the "Come on make my day vibe." He never came over to my area, I even had a spare chair for him to sit on noticed that he was going after the young Asian women who were by themselves. Coward.

My kid's school held a zoom meeting last night.
Budgie comments on Jul 4, 2020:
You are not being paranoid you are thinking about your children and the risks they could be exposed to. I would ask about handwashing. I am a teacher but my area never had community spread (NT in Australia) so our risks were less and our school never shut down but we did the following. Hand sanitizer or hand washing as they came into the class, assigned desks no shifting around and spaced as far away from each other as possible. No contact sports no using the gym equipment unless it could be wiped down between each person (size of class and age of students relevant here). The school employed extra cleaners during the day who went around after each break to wipe down drink fountains (which were only to be used to fill student's own water bottles) seating and toilets. We don't have the same meals as you do our students bring their own from home. Basic hygiene practices for utensils, trays, plates, wearing gloves, masks and hairnets. Maybe the kitchen staff can set up the trays with utensils, plates etc so the students take a tray with everything on it. Or change the food to prepacked food ie sandwiches, or in reusable/recyclable containers with a spoon/fork attached, (send in your own utensils for the students to use, take home and wash) Thinking back to scouts where we had our own kit and were responsible for cleaning it and packing it back up. Spacing out the students even having different times for different grades, we staggered our canteen where children line up to buy foods so that different year levels were going at different times to collect or buy their food. We did a lot of education with the students on why the precautions were necessary and how it can help prevent the spread of the disease and by how much (I teach special ed students and even they got the idea and if someone touched their face they were told by the other students to go and wash their face) With the masks get creative and use favourite characters from books, TV or movies to decorate see if the teachers can come up with some kind of award for students who do the best at wearing their masks. Also how the mask is attached using the ears does become a problem. Social distancing is hard especially the younger the students but maybe the school could come up with some activities in the playground ie hopscotch, elastics, skipping that students can play together but still keep some distance. Our seating in the yard was rearranged to keep students in groups but socially distant where possible. It is never going to be 100% but it will all help. There is also some beginning research into why children are less likely to get the disease or be as ill. If that helps you be reassured. ...

We were playing Trivial Pursuit, Mum got a question (lost in time no idea what it was) her answer (wrong) was going to be "Come with me to the Casbah were we shall dine on smorgasboard sausages." (should I add we had all been drinking?) Instead what came out was "Come with me to the Casbah where we shall dine on spazbogpherofogus." (we have had to guess at the spelling) it became a great answer when you did not know the answer and we have called our house spazbogpherofogus.
Who says classical music doesn't have an effect on children?
Budgie comments on Jul 7, 2020:
