It is a great picture. Totally get how is gives you peace.
What are your thoughts? Is enough being done.
Budgie comments on Jul 25, 2020:
As someone living in the NT who was going out and doing my normal shopping etc I am now holed up at home only going out if necessary and avoiding crowds. 10,000 people have crossed the NT borders and that scares me, we have had incidences of people lying about where they have come from (Melbourne said ACT via Qld) who went to a remote community (many people with compromised health.) We have about 400 in mandatory isolation, one remote community was told that their airport was opening (no where for people to isolate) so they shut down the nature park they manage (the reason people come to their town) until we do not have idiots who feel that they can do what they please and that rules do not apply to them (the moronic bitch who refused to answer the police and somehow got past the border control (copper should be charged as well) and thought it was a great joke https://www.perthnow.com.au/news/vic/coronavirus-victoria-melbourne-woman-eve-black-slammed-after-video-defying-police-at-covid-19-checkpoint-ng-b881618952z?utm_source=emarsys=email=PerthNow+Noon+update+24.07.20=IwAR2Zg2SVt89_309UOf-nq-eYyPdyoLSo81o8k68Oj6LOa0TSg_xR9_Q-CzM) I do not feel safe now that the borders are open I did before. If Melbourne and NSW had there infections under control I would not worry so much. I will be following the advice of science/medical experts on what needs to be done to ensure my safety and that of those around me. I don't care if people think I am an alarmist or a sheep I would rather be alive and with no compromised health. That is if I manage to survive the initial infection.
If you have sex while spooning, is it called 'forking'?

TOTO "Take My Hand" (instrumental) This melody is beautiful and it really moves me for some ...
Budgie comments on Jul 24, 2020:
If it sends tingles up your spine welcome to the club apparently not everyone feels this when listening to music, I can not imagine not feeling a reaction to music. It is a beautiful piece of music. https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/researchers-look-what-happens-brain-when-music-causes-chills-180959481/
PETER GABRIEL "In Your Eyes" (live) A great live version of this song.

Budgie comments on Jul 24, 2020:
Love the photos stay safe.
OK I'm asking for some feedback here.
Budgie comments on Jul 24, 2020:
Hard to comment but with Covid people are acting weirder than normal. I won't go out into large gatherings, I am avoiding people just to make sure I stay safe. Talk to him and ask him about what he expects/wants/thinks your relationship is like. It might not end the way you want it to but at least you will know. Phone him or talk when he comes over to use the pool.
Did you know that roosters crow at sun down as well as sun up?
Budgie comments on Jul 24, 2020:
I have three they crow to each other, was trying to stop them crowing very early in the morning, was told to put them in a cage at night where they could not stretch up their neck, buggers worked out how to crow regardless, tried putting them in a darkened shed, still crowed, decided that we would just have to live with it. While sometimes it is a warning my lot crow just for the sheer joy of it.

I am rereading some of Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden books and I think he sets one cataclysmic scene at this temple. I could be wrong it has been a few years since I read the book.

Budgie comments on Jul 21, 2020:
I tell them to get off my property. Had a pair that reached over a 6ft metal panel gate to unlock the D shackle on the gate to open it. I was recovering from knee surgery and had to wear a padded brace on my leg (imagine a cricket pad over your entire leg in tropical heat) I watched them walk down the drive, they knocked I got up it was about 9am on a weekend morning. I opened the door the screen door was locked and shut. They started to talk I launched, Told them it was disrespectful to arrive at someone's house before 10am on a weekend, that I had leg surgery and had to strap on the brace to get up to answer (I was still in my pjs) that they had unlocked a gate to gain access to the house and that they had until the count of three to be the other side of the gate as that was when I was going to open the screen door and let my dog out. She, a beautiful german shepherd had started her low rumble growl that she reserved for when animals were prowling around outside of the house. ONE, they turned and ran, TWO I opened the door, They reached the gate as my pup got to them. She sat (not allowed out without us so would not leave) as they shut the gate growling at them. Then I saw their hands come over and the locked the gate. I went back to my bed in the lounge and continued watching TV with my brother who could of answered the door but it was more fun me doing it.
Think about it... 5!

A plea to the People of Victoria, Australia.
Budgie comments on Jul 19, 2020:
The NT borders opened and there was a flood of people across them. I am now concerned saw a Vic number plate. People are now coming in on planes yes I know some have to quarantine themselves but we were doing so well and then Vic and NSW messed up and now we are all at risk because of it. We had managed to open up and with some stimulus packages from the NT government people were going out and doing things. We even had a eat out program during the worst of it (at least one night a week order take away from a place offering it) our local fish and chip/hamburger take away was rushed off their feet and now everything is close to back to normal have shut down for a week to rest up and have a break. I worry that we are going to get people who break the rules. One person in a remote community who sneaks in and has the virus can kill pretty much the entire community, most of our remote communities have people with multiple medical conditions who do not like going to the Dr.
Our Prime Minister has decided that they will not be sitting in Parliament due to the virus but is ...
Budgie comments on Jul 19, 2020:

Math problem 2020 edition
Budgie comments on Jul 16, 2020:
Given the current ideologies and the fact drumpf has all hospital sending their Covid 19 data to the white house none because the student was never tested so therefore never had it and there was no need to test because he didn't have it and later 60 children die in a horrific bus accident as the driver suffered a major stroke due to the blood clots forming in his body but they don't know why and it definitely was not Covid 19 because he never had it because there was no need to test. Sorry rather bleak outlook I know.
Icehouse - Cross The Border. Great Australian band. [youtu.be]
Budgie comments on Jul 16, 2020:
One of my favourite bands I love the song Icehouse, they released it as the band Flowers but when they went to release songs outside of Australia they could not use the name Flowers so used Icehouse.
Someone who i thought was a 'friend' sent me this on facebook .
Budgie comments on Jul 15, 2020:
I could not watch it I hate clowns and stupidity just hurts these days I am so tired of people whining about wearing a mask. I am going to visit a friend in hospital and I am going to have to wear a mask, write down my name and address and have my temperature taken, I will also be observed using sanitizer on my hands. Two of us can visit at any one time (he is in a private room) but can only stay for about an hour then we will be kicked out. We can not go anywhere else in the hospital straight to his room and straight out when you leave. Am I carrying on no I will do it so my friend can have someone visit him in hospital.
What is the best pair of shoes you have ever owned?
Budgie comments on Jul 14, 2020:
I hate buying shoes (I hate wearing them) but a friend took me shoe shopping and I bought a really comfortable pair of croc thongs that I wore to death, some sketcher shoes that do not give me blisters. But my all time fav was when living on an island off the coast of Australia. Target would send over catalogues and we could order from them. They had some boots but I did not know what size to get so we traced around my feet and sent that to the shop with the order. The boots fitted and were comfortable. Great buy.
Happy Tuesday! What are you terrible at but love to do anyways?
Budgie comments on Jul 14, 2020:

I now get opioid addiction.
Budgie comments on Jul 14, 2020:
I had to have many knee operations I was given pethidine, did not really get rid of the pain (dulled it some) and then I had to have medication to prevent me vomiting everywhere as I felt so nauseous. Had to have wisdom teeth removed under a general. Told them what pethidine was like for me and so they prescribed morphine. Was like the first sip of a good scotch, this warm feeling went through my body, I disconnected from everything, seriously they asked me to roll over to my side and all I could do was move my shoulders, I giggled at everything. I am allergic to pethidine but boy does my brain like morphine. I have had to have it since and am always very careful about how much I use (self administered drip) I would rather tolerate some pain than deal with an addiction.
A guitar hero of mine.

Budgie comments on Jul 11, 2020:
My cousins, brother and I walked around a suburb in Melbourne one xmas or new year singing this as the car lights blinded us. I am pretty sure we only say the chorus. Think of that everytime I hear the song now.

And if I wake up during the night I am not getting back off to sleep again, except for that one night I went to the loo, fell asleep while sitting on it, fell off and cracked my head on the bathtub. Not sure if I passed out or went back to sleep but I woke up sitting on the bathroom floor.
I love being able to have reasonable conversations with like minded people (godless skeptics), but ...
Budgie comments on Jul 10, 2020:
My friends know I am atheist, or if they don't they are just not paying attention. I had a great friend who believed sort of in god we did so many things together and joked about my lack of faith a lot. He became my personal "god" many because I would say things like good god and oh my god so he would reply, "yes." when I did. Another friend is a pagan in a poly relationship I was at the birth of two of her children. We get drunk and have roaring conversations about a range of things. I have some devout catholics (church every sunday etc) I find around them I am more careful of what I say and don't comment if a touchy topic comes up but we all tend to be fairly civilized. I am going around for lunch on the weekend and know there will be a prayer said before we eat so I sit quietly while it happens. If they come to my place they know there won't be and never ask to. I have noticed her quietly lower her head and seen her lips move before she eats. Here there are groups I would never join as their views on some things are completely different to mine and the way the groups are worded makes me believe they are not interested in discussion to the contrary of their views. But hey that is their choice plenty of groups to join that are like me.

Hot 🔥 Dog 🐕
Budgie comments on Jul 9, 2020:
As a vegetarian this statement is a bit like when a group of us went to see Sweeney Todd (Johnny Depp version) and halfway through as my friend turned pale I leaned over and said, "There are days I am glad I am a vegatarian." She would not eat pies after that I still don't think she eats pies. I may have been a hotdog in my childhood but have not ever been one in the last 30 odd years.

Thin Lizzy - Don't Believe A Word [youtube.com]
Budgie comments on Jul 9, 2020:
Always loved Thin Lizzy thanks for the share. Interesting that you used to see him around town, I grew up in a small mining town and ended up learning Asian cooking from the mother of and babysitting the nephew and neice of an Australian rock musician. Also later taught his nephew when I became a teacher, never met the man I doubt he came to visit them.

Budgie comments on Jul 9, 2020:
My parents played him a lot as well, I love his music.
Ninja say what!?
Budgie comments on Jul 9, 2020:
Okay trying to work out what he means is he saying that white supremacists are trying to reduce the population of city dwellers/people of colour/people in general? And has he not joined forces with the white supremacists party and therefore is one of the people doing this? This statement loops around and bites itself, my brain feels like it is trying to read an Escher picture. I know that it is given he does not understand what planned parenthood actually do and is only repeating what he has been told but it still hurts to read.

Mind you I know of people who boast about how quickly they drove from Darwin to Brisbane or reverse and they probably were not sleeping much. Way too dangerous on those roads.

Who says classical music doesn't have an effect on children?
Budgie comments on Jul 7, 2020:
Strange I use Mozart to help my class calm down, had one boy who I taught for one lesson after recess (loaded up on recess and running around) he would come in calm down and sit with his foot keeping the beat. Next lesson back in his room he started to run amuck again.
If you ever wonder how new words come about I can for sure say kids can be inventive.

We were playing Trivial Pursuit, Mum got a question (lost in time no idea what it was) her answer (wrong) was going to be "Come with me to the Casbah were we shall dine on smorgasboard sausages." (should I add we had all been drinking?) Instead what came out was "Come with me to the Casbah where we shall dine on spazbogpherofogus." (we have had to guess at the spelling) it became a great answer when you did not know the answer and we have called our house spazbogpherofogus.

My kid's school held a zoom meeting last night.
Budgie comments on Jul 4, 2020:
You are not being paranoid you are thinking about your children and the risks they could be exposed to. I would ask about handwashing. I am a teacher but my area never had community spread (NT in Australia) so our risks were less and our school never shut down but we did the following. Hand sanitizer or hand washing as they came into the class, assigned desks no shifting around and spaced as far away from each other as possible. No contact sports no using the gym equipment unless it could be wiped down between each person (size of class and age of students relevant here). The school employed extra cleaners during the day who went around after each break to wipe down drink fountains (which were only to be used to fill student's own water bottles) seating and toilets. We don't have the same meals as you do our students bring their own from home. Basic hygiene practices for utensils, trays, plates, wearing gloves, masks and hairnets. Maybe the kitchen staff can set up the trays with utensils, plates etc so the students take a tray with everything on it. Or change the food to prepacked food ie sandwiches, or in reusable/recyclable containers with a spoon/fork attached, (send in your own utensils for the students to use, take home and wash) Thinking back to scouts where we had our own kit and were responsible for cleaning it and packing it back up. Spacing out the students even having different times for different grades, we staggered our canteen where children line up to buy foods so that different year levels were going at different times to collect or buy their food. We did a lot of education with the students on why the precautions were necessary and how it can help prevent the spread of the disease and by how much (I teach special ed students and even they got the idea and if someone touched their face they were told by the other students to go and wash their face) With the masks get creative and use favourite characters from books, TV or movies to decorate see if the teachers can come up with some kind of award for students who do the best at wearing their masks. Also how the mask is attached using the ears does become a problem. Social distancing is hard especially the younger the students but maybe the school could come up with some activities in the playground ie hopscotch, elastics, skipping that students can play together but still keep some distance. Our seating in the yard was rearranged to keep students in groups but socially distant where possible. It is never going to be 100% but it will all help. There is also some beginning research into why children are less likely to get the disease or be as ill. If that helps you be reassured. ...
