The Police. - Wrapped Around Your Finger. [youtu.be]
Budgie comments on Jun 5, 2020:
Spent a weekend camping and listening to The Police (among others) traveling in the car there and back was all Police, now I have them firmly linked to 4wd roads, sand, salt and camping. I can see the dune we had trouble cresting, feel the seat covers on the car and see the interior of the car clearly. Music links things for me.

Maybe if he had commented about mega churches rather than use race I know that it is the main problem but it seems to be drawing the wrong attention to the issue. My parents loved them and so I grew up listening to their music. This song always seemed very sad to me as a child. They along with Peter Paul and Mary were my classical father's "Rock Music" Also in school we did a program called Let's All Sing where the teacher had a cassette and we had song books to sing along. The two groups songs were heavily featured.

Budgie comments on May 22, 2020:
I am a teacher (not in America) and I have never and will never teach a child to do multiplication the first way. i may show them using blocks how it all works ie we will make 17 groups of 23 and then look at the fact that we have 10 groups of 3 and 10 groups of 20 as well as 7 groups of 3 and 7 of 20 so that they understand what is happening (we are talking 8 year olds who don't do abstract thinking too well yet.) But then I show them the long multiplication method and as we work through how to do it we refer back to the blocks but under no circumstances would I teach the rubbish at the top as the way to complete the problem.

Is that so important to choose your partner who has similar thoughts on religion? Why or why not?
Budgie comments on May 15, 2020:
I think is all depends on how militant either of you are, if they expect that any children will be christened, attend church, be taught that gods are real then it might become a sticking point. If they are off to church every Sunday or expect you to change to suit their life it is not going to work. Similarly if you are adamant that the word god is never mentioned in the house etc it won't work. Depends on how deeply they believe, had a best friend who was religious sort of we got along really well he knew my views I knew his but we agreed on so many other things that was what we talked about if religion came up we could both joke about it.

The guy makes it, it tastes disgusting and he throws it out of the window. Three days later he sees the most amazing rose bush growing with wonderful roses and an awesome scent. He rings to store to tell them. The store is puzzled about how this happened and tell him you usually get tulips from hamster jam.

OK, I'm really getting agitated here.
Budgie comments on May 3, 2020:
Okay trying to look at each point. 1. Where I live there are three nursing homes all run by independent companies none with religious affiliations, is the money only going to the god botherers? Then it is the same way he funds education nothing to the public school everything to independent ones that support him. 2. The sheeple are flocking to it thinking it makes them safer, I have been working the whole time as the NT closed borders quickly we have had no community spread and schools stayed open. However even if I had a phone that would take the app I would not download it and it is up to people to refuse (most won't they are sheep) 3. As a teacher do not even get me started. 4. Follow the money who created the app and who makes money out of it. What will they use it for next? Hence point 2 5. Did not know about that one but have not been going to nursing homes lately. I was visiting my aunt in one when the lockdown in Vic started and had to have my temperature taken each day. I tried to go to the one that my father was in to see some of the residents we had made friends with but you have to have an appointment so we decided to wait. I too find some of the this is okay that is not okay confusing. There seems to be contradictory information given out. I am in the NT so we are the safest place in Australia. They are starting to ease up restrictions and now I am starting to worry. What if they ease them up too quickly? What is someone is positive but asymptomic and we get community spread? It is not simple.
For those of you who believed in life after death before: do you struggle more now when people die?
Budgie comments on May 3, 2020:
I would say less. While I would love to be able to catch up with my parents, extended family and all of the pets I have ever had the privilege of caring for, they are gone hopefully they enjoyed their lives. I have only had to deal with one suicide I was a teenager, he was a devout catholic, he was a scout leader and a lovely man, very generous. The local priest refused to give him last rites or perform a memorial mass for him (his body was to be sent to his parents) My mum and a couple of other friends of his and parents of scouts marched down to his church and gave the priest what for, telling him he was a failure if a member of his flock did not feel that his priest could help him, where was he when this man needed guidance and help, etc, she was livid. The priest having been put into his place performed the memorial service to which half the town turned up. Most packed his church had ever been. I just felt angry that if there was a god he had failed big time and allowed a good and decent man to be taken from all of the people who cared about him and to who he mattered. We all felt gutted that we had not noticed or that he felt he could talk to at least one of us about what he was going through. The thought that he was in hell was never entertained by any of us.

Anyone know anything about Empaths or Seers? Are there groups here for that? Any thoughts?
Budgie comments on May 1, 2020:
Empaths are simply people who are very good at reading other people and judging the mood of that person and who are emotionally sensitive enough to feel for the person so much that they experience the same emotion as the person. Seers can be found in any good D&D adventure or fantasy book. There may be people on here that wish to discuss this further I suggest a search in the groups for Seers and Empaths to see what turns up. From the posts I have read here they are into fairly deep science I know a bit and I struggle to understand some of what they discuss.
