The BNSF line is about a mile from me,about 20 trains or more in 24 hours,so I'm used to the rumble of the engines, the wheel sounds do not carry that far though.
BufftonBeotch replies on Oct 2, 2018:
I was probably 1/2 mile from the tracks growing up, and we could clearly hear the rail sounds. It was a valley on a small rise with larger hills on all sides of us, so that probably affected the acoustics. Could sometimes clearly hear the conversations of neighbors on their porch in the flat area several hundred yards away.

BufftonBeotch replies on Oct 1, 2018:
@DaphneDarling It's been almost ten years since the divorce was finalized, so I forget all the details. (Finalized the day before Independence Day, which was awesome.) I had lived in GA which isn't as strict on some things as SC is on the DL rules for women who change their names. I would have needed paperwork for every name change. Changing the SSI was not a problem, with I think the birth certificate and divorce papers. Then I may have fibbed and said I had lost my GA drivers license but had the birth certificate and SSI for ID. It was strike two for me marriage-wise. So I would have had to have in hand both marriage licenses and both divorce decrees. I could have done it, but it would have been a hassle, and the documents I provided were perfectly legal. Don't change your name.

Does burning man count? It's on a lifeless playa in the middle of Nevada desert. The area is a long dried up lake bed and the dust is made up of the desiccated bones of the prior lake inhabitants, making the dirt caustic.

So maybe $1 And I have an inflatable kayak which is small, but I and my used it to get from Bahia Honda Key to Deer Key and we did not die. I think it will suffice just fine on a lake. If we decide being "on" the lake is better than looking at the lake. on edit - Different "we"

I would have been to the wall on that one. One junior high s--t h--e thought he could get me expelled for not saying the Pledge of Allegiance. And dragged me down to the office "Fred. You teach civics. You need to learn the law better than your students." He really didn't like me after that. But everyone in the class liked me.
