Why are sex movies so taboo but horror movies so accepted?
Buttercup comments on Apr 4, 2019:
Bugs me, I took my kids to Carnaval in Rio, naked dancers are fun but I wouldn't let them watch network news, too much graphic violence.

Do most men just play along for eventual pussy.
Buttercup comments on Mar 30, 2019:
No and yes. This question is as insulting as asking if women just want a meal ticket. I like pussy but it's only as good as person attached to it.

Not sure where to put this but i thought some here might find it interesting.
Buttercup comments on Mar 29, 2019:
Good analogy but modern economies(all of them, pure socialism is mythical) rely on infinite growth (capitalism) and need to completely collapse and reset. Empires fall, when a global economy goes down it's going to be ugly. The whole world's piles of money up in flames.
Carbon energy as a solution to energy and carbon emissions. What do you think? [cbc.ca]
Buttercup comments on Mar 29, 2019:
Turning co2 back into gasoline has to use more energy than it produces, this is a storage system like a battery or hydrogen fuel cells. I don't think gasoline is the fuel of the future, we need better transportation than our current cars. In the short term could help but it would also take a huge capital investment, these plants would be replacing oil refineries so would have to be as large and ubiquitous.
What do you think about the person that is described as having a lot of CLASS?
Buttercup comments on Mar 28, 2019:
Dash, style, wit, someone who expects more of themselves than of others.

Are women aware of being played by a charming, subtle flirt?
Buttercup comments on Mar 26, 2019:
Flirting is fun and I do act differently when women are around. I'm subtle because I'm attracted to the ones sharp enough to catch on. Smart repartee is sexy, Dorothy Parker and Mae West are my heroes.

Buttercup comments on Mar 25, 2019:
Something like a Von Neumann probe (light, not an infinitely replicating virus, just enough to be an efficient research tool) isn't too far off technically. 3d printing with the ability to gather materials and a fusion powered ion drive would make it possible. A few thousand of these would could cover the entire Milky Way in a million years but would still be spread pretty thin. We've only been transmitting for a few years but were now easy to find. They'd have to change course too but a few thousand years would be an small delay in the scope of such a project. They'll be showing up any millennia. Rocky planets with liquid water and oxygen atmospheres might be so common as to not be worth a special trip.

Americans used to eat pigeon all the time—and it could be making a comeback.
Buttercup comments on Mar 24, 2019:
The passenger pigeon, perhaps once the most numerous bird in the Americas was eaten to extinction. Rock doves, now our common pigeon would be okay. I've eaten mourning doves, they're pretty small and could only contribute a tiny bit to our food supply.
Can somebody give me a little advice on planting seed potatoes?
Buttercup comments on Mar 24, 2019:
You can and they'll grow great, the sprouts are clones of the parent so you'll get the same potato you planted, cut chunks with at least one eye and plant them sprout preferably facing up.

This Is Why The Multiverse Must Exist
Buttercup comments on Mar 22, 2019:
I like the idea of a multiverse too, and their are some hints. "Must exist" radically overstates anything I've heard, notably this was published in Forbes, not a peer reviewed journal of cosmology.
Why am I always hungry?
Buttercup comments on Mar 22, 2019:
There's an old saying,"Nobody ever saw a fat lumberjack" if your in the woods working hard, you need to eat a lot.
Well that was fun and intriguing.
Buttercup comments on Mar 19, 2019:
Similar to evolution denial in spirit. My own particular pet peeve, time is eternal because their intuition says something had to come before. We have verified evidence of time dilation proving it's not conserved or a universal constant.
Do you believe in Doomsday prepping?
Buttercup comments on Mar 18, 2019:
I'm less than 10 miles from USA's largest subbase, one of the biggest concentrations of nuclear weapons in the world and an obvious target. If they're hit I'm toast (burnt). For the more prosaic disasters, like volcanoes and earthquakes I have food and fuel for a few weeks, I have some chronic health issues that unmedicated wouldn't kill me instantly but lasting more than year or two would be unlikely.
The Great Scandal: Christianity's Role in the Rise of the Nazis

Space (A.K.A. Outer Space, Cosmological Space) is not an empty void, not free of substance or form.
Buttercup comments on Mar 17, 2019:
Hey Chuck, You're never going to win a religious argument with reason. Time is infinite because "something" had to have existed before the big bang and they accept this as a matter of faith The only evidence they are willing to accept is that you prove that "nothing" exists and they are blind to the logical paradox of their own position.
Is being someone's fetish love?
Buttercup comments on Mar 17, 2019:
Is my love better than your love a productive comparison? Contemporary thinking says loving someone because they're are honest and kind is "true love" and I agree for myself, but what about a person who doesn't care but values other qualities like physical beauty(and further considers obesity beautiful) Unless they are harming others, love is how they see it and not my call.
Trump: His "Very Fine People," & The Killer in New Zealand are Connected
Buttercup comments on Mar 15, 2019:
Trump belated and tepid response to the New Zealand massacre is a clear message,"I approve" and his threats of violence yesterday are an invitation to more of the same.

Is Time A Concept Or A Thing?
Buttercup comments on Mar 15, 2019:
Way too much to unpack in a blurb, but I have a couple of things to consider. Is the time question the quantum uncertainty version of "If a tree falls in the forest does it make a sound?" Does the underlying phenomena exist independently, vibrations in air exist whether you hear them or not, clearly yes. Limiting the question to yes or no is a false dichotomy. Concrete versus abstract is similarly limited every idea in somewhere encoded in matter and/or energy,a neuron or computer chip, a book or something inconceivable to me. In our universe empty space doesn't exist, it has background microwave radiation and gravitrons (which opens a new can of worms, does space exists without gravitrons to define it). It's widely believed that if you could make nothing "exist"quantum particles would instantly spring into existence which confirms that time originated then(!?). Humans may abhor a paradox but nature clearly doesn't. If there is no god where did this come from leads nowhere because then you have to ask where did god come from. What existed before existence is the same fruitless loop of logic.

Buttercup comments on Mar 13, 2019:
We had a boss who was useless, he was supposed to be foreman of big yard of pipes and fittings for natural gas production. He wouldn't even come out into the area he was supervising because he didn't like getting dirty. We spent a couple of weeks moving inventory from it's designated area to random spots, we knew where everything was and continued to fulfill orders but the filing system charts had become completely wrong and useless. We all quit without notice, the whole place had to shut down because even after they found new forklift drivers EVERY time he told them where something was, he was wrong. He was fired after a couple of days. Bonus facts, since no management ever came into our area we brought whole kegs of beer to work. The top guy, his superior was named Royal Bliss.

Buttercup comments on Mar 12, 2019:
Taping really helped me, watch a few different videos to learn different methods and learn enough anatomy and the mechanics of your arches to do it right, you have to tension the tape so it mimics the natural spring and support of your arches. Taping is useless unless done correctly, it's a spring not a bandage that should limit the range of motion and the amount of force absorbed by the arch. When you stand on it it should be very apparent that the tape is resisting the compression.

Geographical isolation can be a factor in determining species. It's all a bit messy, as someone pointed out there can be interbreeding between cats. It's also seen in trout/salmonoid fishes.

How many of yall believe in a historical Jesus? And why?
Buttercup comments on Mar 7, 2019:
Not so simple but no, Jesus is the Latinized version of the Greek Yesu which is the Greek version of the Hebrew Joshua , the Christians use this convention so as not to confuse him with other Joshuas. Nazereth was a pretty small place but still probably had a few Joshuas and maybe even a few Joshuas ben Josephs. Without a demonstrable birth record including birthday there isn't. JoeBob from Dallas probably exists but which JoeBob is the son of Zeus?

Buttercup comments on Feb 22, 2019:
Not me but interesting. I was in high school study hall, it was a hot sultry day when everyone was sleepwalking. I was lazily trying to focus on a book I was reading. At the front of the class was the teacher, she was twenty something and really attractive. Not in a showgirl way, pretty but plain, whipsmart and compactly athletic. She was squirming and rocking in her chair, rubbing one out in front of the class. It was pretty obvious from her changing posture when she was building the tension and when she orgasmed the wave of pleasure. I just sat by helplessly turned on, I wouldn't out her and for reasons of anatomy and desk design I couldn't have been nearly as discreet if I tried it myself .

Definitely by the time you have the pregnancy/ std talk if it's essential to your sexuality, it's ungentlemanly to just spring stuff on people. At what age did you have your first sexual activity?
Buttercup comments on Aug 12, 2018:
First time to 3rd base was twelve, she was ten, barely pubescent and down for it. She went on to be promiscuous in high school. It only dawned on me a few years ago she was probably being molested even though it was widely known that her older brother was molesting her younger brother. Lots of make out parties about that time; it was a local tradition to play pass around between boys and the girls one or two grades behind us. I wonder if any body took on swinging when they got older.
Currently I have every other day off and not enough time to get out for any big excursions.

There is an old joke... a woman was displeased with her husband and sought out the burliest biker she could find. He whipped out his winkie and it was tiny, much smaller than her husband's. "Who do you expect to satisfy with that?" she demanded scornfully. " heh, heh, ME!" he answered.

My steadfast companion, the same one from the dorm where we had the big audience, loved to smoke pot and fuck, she wasn't afraid of pleasure of any kind and getting soft and dreamy two ways at once pleased her. We fucked once on the banks of the Stanislaus River in Northern California. It was so hot outside it made us dreamy in three different ways. A man approached us in our exposed condition, he called ahead to give us time to cover up, so he must have seen us earlier. He apologized for intruding, said he was rafting with his children and asked if we would stay covered long enough for them to pass. Of course we were happy to oblige. What a sweet man!

Have you ever been attracted to someone in a position of authority, over you?
Buttercup comments on Jul 21, 2018:
Not actually my supervisor but an very pretty sweet coworker, I was 15 and she was about 25. I was way way ... too shy to say anything but she had to have noticed my slack jawed drooling when we were in close proximity. She quit and moved away. A couple of years later she came back to visit and needed a place to stay so I offered my house. I put her in my room and went to sleep on the couch. She came out after a bit and said," Aren't you coming to bed?" Teenage virgin boy's dream come true and I pounded her mercilessly for the next three days.
