I’m a hard-working single mom of one. I love to read and to listen to audio books. I just recently started a hobby of dream interpretations. It is interesting. I spend entirely too much time on laundry. I just recently found out I have food allergies, yeah, pretty much if it’s not salad or meat, I can’t eat it.

Should we have an atheist day adventure at Disney World Orlando?
Butterflywndr comments on Sep 9, 2018:
Would be fun, but I couldn’t afford it. I can’t even afford Disneyland right now and I’m less than 2 hours from there.
Interesting read and I suppose it makes sense. Isn't true for me but I would be curious how many of...

My parents weren’t practicing religious. My dad is a Jew, my mom is a metaphysicist. My mom would pontificate frequently about what I should or shouldn’t do in order to be happy and get what I wanted out of life. She would rarely practice what she preached and when she did it was short lived. It felt like being raised by a used car salesman constantly waiting for the next big thing. When she was around. Anyway, my parents’ religion, or lack thereof, made me want to believe there was something out there because that would be “normal” and nothing about my family is normal, but I haven’t believed in a long time.
Is your workplace atheist friendly.

It’s a forbidden topic at work.
Who has been to D23? What did you think? Worth the ? Worth the time?
Butterflywndr comments on Aug 28, 2018:
Even living about 1.5 hours from Disneyland, I can’t justify spending the money for an annual pass or any of the extra perks. Don’t get me wrong, if I had the extra money, I would, but the cost of living where I am is high and I don’t see it getting better any time soon. I’m also a little upset that Disney felt the way to fix the overcrowding issue was to raise prices.
New to the site today. Just have to vent a little. I was dumped over the weekend by a guy I went out...

Waited 4 hours in line to see Anna and Elsa. It was 102 degrees that day.
Ohhh CRAP...!!!
Butterflywndr comments on Aug 25, 2018:
Eeeek!!!!
Difficult.... I wonder everything worth having is worth working for
Butterflywndr comments on Aug 24, 2018:
There is a difference between “difficult” and “takes work”. All relationships take work to make them last, but, you shouldn’t have to work so hard the entire time, day in and day out. It should be a give and take setup. At least that is what I imagine successful relationships are. If they are so much work that You are miserable it’s time for a change.
Have you ever been blind-sided by another's religion? I was dating a lady for a few years when ...
Butterflywndr comments on Aug 24, 2018:
It is something I usually bring up on a first date because I’ve been vested in relationships, like 6 months, where it wasn’t brought up because we had agreed not to talk about it, then, when they find out I’m a non-believer, they start finding fault with me wherever they can. If it is something that is a deal breaker, they need to state it up front.
So the outcome of sugar peas vs peas was this.

Why is it so hard to find a date in this group?
Butterflywndr comments on Aug 24, 2018:
Mostly because there isn’t enough of a pool. I’m here more for community than dating. I think it is the same for most people here.
Yep! Will leave this here!
Butterflywndr comments on Aug 24, 2018:
Sounds reasonable
Around the block?
Butterflywndr comments on Aug 24, 2018:
That’s the second person to say someone they blocked was able to contact them again. Not good.

Blocked members. How come a member whom I blocked months ago was able to contact me today? He is ...
Butterflywndr comments on Aug 24, 2018:
That’s not cool he can get around a block. I think the believers come here because they have a hard time converting people in the real world because they have to do work to find nonbelievers. Here, they feel it is a free market to spread their “wisdom” and try to convince us that there is a “better” way. A lot of them are so wrapped up in their own beliefs that they force their beliefs on others and can’t understand how people can disagree. I’ve actually met an atheist that was previously a born again Christian. He tried to force his atheism on people. He got mad at me and so did his wife for telling him that wasn’t right.

I took my daughter to DL and DCA for her fifth birthday. We went all out. I haven’t been able to go back because it’s so expensive. They raised the prices because of overcrowding.

Butterflywndr comments on Aug 21, 2018:
Wow, you are nice. My neighbors stopped the washing machine on me and pulled the clothes out, and washed their own. Oh, and relieved me of my soap. One time I left recycling on my porch to put in my car. I went in the house to grab my car keys, and bam, bag was gone. I guess they needed it more than I did.

Mayonnaise VS Miracle Whip which is your favorite? (Mayo for me)
Butterflywndr comments on Aug 21, 2018:
I preferred mayo, but, since I found out I’m allergic to eggs, I can no longer eat it. They make a vegan mayo but I do t love mayo enough to try it. Maybe if I’m desperate I will go there, but for now, I just skip it altogether. Some things just can’t replace the original.
