I hike, bike and flat water kayak, but I'm also capable of lifting a book. I enjoy lifting weights and working out. I'm a reasonably fit, mostly reformed wild child who still has moments of mischief. I don't have a formal religion ... I ask too many questions. I am interested in the paranormal. Oh yeah, I have a job, car, home, and full set of teeth.

If we are compatible and have common interests who knows where the path will lead ... possibly to some secluded spot ... so we can chase fireflies.

Some people believe god is part of each of us. I think it is sort of a self-love concept, but also that each of us can act in a god like way (practice acceptance, kindness, empathy, and love of others). If it works for you great.

Reading! Ida B. Wells - I found her anti-lynching work interesting, but the book was too long at 800+ pages. Derek Hough (the Dancing with Stars guy) - I don’t watch the show, so it was informative. Ambulance Girl - this was about a woman who turned 50, had a mid-life crisis and becaome a volunteer EMT. It took me about 2 days to get thru the book. And I just started “Ask me whyI hurt”. It’s about a Dr who starts a mobile medical van for homeless youth. So far, very good

UU World magazine screwed up.
CS60 comments on Mar 7, 2019:
I agree the article could or should have been better, but I also wonder if need some common sense. The author is coming from a place of good. They didn’t do everything right, but they weren’t being a rude or ignorant. And kudos, for the editors apology. And frankly, those ugly, heartbreaking stats should be in there. How else will people know? I think it would have been better to have Sydney, Clair, and Anydt write their respective sections. One thing I’m not clear about is if the mother knew Sydney as male. If so, misgendering is almost certain happen. I don’t believe the mother is intentionally misgendering Sydney - she wasn’t trying to be a rude or disrespectful. At the start of a transition it is very affirming to be gendered properly, unfortunately it takers a while for everyone to get it right. This an opportunity to discuss feelings - was the mother embarrassed or ashamed that she misgendered Sydney? Then she should say so. Sydney should discuss how the misgendering makes her feel and they should come up with plan on what to do it it happens again. A discussion like that would have helped the article. It is NOT cool to ask a random stranger if they had surgery, will have surgery, if they’re on hormones, or will be. However, I don’t think it is totally inappropriate for close family or friends to ask. They want to know and understand what’s going on with their loved one, but it is a delicate discussion. Trans people need to understand they are mostly going to have to have a conversation about surgery, hormones, what’s scheduled to happen next, and future plans; they also should be the ones to initiate the conversation. I’m sorry but LOL at grandma - vegetarian or vegan? And totally missing the boat on they.
Exactly this!

If we count illegals in the Census, why not to count tourists?
CS60 comments on Jul 18, 2019:
So what type of tourist are you proposing to count? Only the ones from the US or from another countries? How do you plan on counting someone visiting multiple towns, counties, states? Do they get counted in each one? The census should count everyone living in the US and where they get counted is at their permanent address. I would be curious if ex-pats are counted and how.

Are you afraid of change?
CS60 comments on Nov 17, 2019:
You’ve got this! It will take some getting used too. Everything has pros and cons. Seek the pros - you can get-up or go to bed whenever you want, eat what you want - when you want, watch what you want; basically you have more freedom to do what and when you please. Develop a social network at the new location - you seem to be an extrovert, this should be relatively easy. Heck you might enjoy it so much, you never have another live-in partner or roomie.
