Our nearby city burned last year & it was amazing how many animals made it, though some had burns. I think cats especially go down storm drains to survive. I hope your pets are lucky ones too. I can barely imagine how helpless you're feeling now. Please let us know how you are doing tomorrow.

I hate the disgusting air in the planes--they change it less often than they used to, in order to save fuel. (I read that in a magazine) & being trapped in the stuffy plane interminably waiting out on the runway. I hate how the nice meals & the lovely, steaming scented towels are gone. I miss having the pilot telling us where we are from time to time, & pointing out landmarks. It used to be special & exciting to fly & now it's something to be dreaded. I drive now.

UUNJ--what a great post! I've certainly learned a lot. I gave my dad soap on a rope for YEARS. Then when visiting home I saw the most recent overpriced soap sitting in his shower--with the rope cut off!!! That stupid rope added about $7 to the price!! A few years later I realized that men's shirts haven't required cuff links for a very long time.

We are just like any other animal. Most animals that live in groups are actually very nasty to those lower on the pecking order. From baboons to goats to chickens, it's pretty common.

My advice is, if you can afford to buy a place then do it. Make your own house payments, not your landlord's. Nail stuff to the walls, do little home improvement projects & make it your own space. No more worries about being evicted or having your rent raised. It's the greatest feeling.
