In my experience , the men in my life put next to nothing into a relationship , but wanted a hell of a lot from me . It didn't work out . I posted a request to see what people were willing to put into a relationship and what they expected to get out of one . Again , there was very little anyone was willing to invest in a relationship . My cats put more into a relationship than people are willing to do , so I'm withdrawing my dating site search . I'm happier on my own .
My folks weren't educated or rich , but Dad was good with his hands . He improved and/or expanded every place we lived in . I used what I learned from him , bought property , and improved them , rented them out , then sold them at a profit . At one point , I owned four properties .

Mom spent the last 52 years of her life living in Bermuda . I stopped counting my round trips to the northern tip of the Bermuda triangle after 14 . I've also visited Mexico , England , Scotland , Wales , Austria , Bavaria , and France . Oh , and California . It's foreign too , in it's own way .
Due to an ongoing stream of scammers on all dating sites , my permanent policy is that , no matter what the justification you give , I never , any circumstances send money .
Sapiosexual . High IQ , voracious reader , love Sci/Fi/Fantasy , non-smoker , seldom have any alcohol , don't use illegal drugs . Two adult children on their own . Two cats their Mom left with me .
I like being me . I like the person I have become . I like where I am at this point , in my life . I like what I've accomplished . And now , retirement suites me . I live in a nice little castle , with a long skinny moat out back . I enjoy LARPs , SciFiFantasy Cons , playing D & D , an occasional movie , catching up on all the TV shows I missed , while putting myself through college ( earned a BS in IFSM ) , swimming , and a little gardening .

 I am so fed up with even hearing about our Pres, that I simply remove the source , when anyone posts anything about Trump .
  those who think it's important , I don't wear make up , and don't have any on , in the photos . I truly wish this body was healthier than it is , and thinner , but I still manage . 
 I prefer people who are constructive , not distructive . I  have no desire to be with those who choose to smoke , use illegal drugs , or are alcoholic . Absolutely will not put up with abuse of any kind , I'm better than that . I'm not here to bail you out . My donations go to Planned Parenthood . Interesting , when I first signed up , they were showing 9 in the 80 % and 90 % ranges . Eventually , I posted that I wondered , with changes and updates , over time , if they re-evaluated the percentages . Which they immediately did . Apparently , over time , I raised the bar .

It's a different set of rules when it comes to borrowing money , buying a house , earning a wage , what work is expected of you when you're , "doing the same job ," as your male counter parts . Unfortunately , there are still those who manage to jump through all the proper hoops to earn their required degrees , who still aren't qualified in their chosen fields . And while their answer may be , "I earned my degree ," that doesn't mean they always do their job right or even that the subject matter that they were taught was correct . Doctors , for many years , used blood letting frequently , to release the bad vapors . They still send away patients who don't seem to respond to typical treatments . My dentists claimed for several decades that I wasn't properly caring for my gums , because they were red , swollen , and bleeding , not to mention itchy . Turns out while many of these men found it easy to blame me , the problem was that I was allergic to the amalgum they used for dental fillings . Once I had everyone of the fillings removed and replaced with either resin or poreclin , no more gum problems . Thirty years of guilt , pain , and itching ,for what they did to me !

St. Agnes , the hospital where I gave birth to my children , was built by Catholics . Using military privledges , I had a historectomy(s) in the Washington , D.C. area in another hospital , built by Catholics . Here in Texas , I was admitted to Willowbrook Methodist Memorial Hospital . The religious folk can and do join together to work towards positive projects . I don't think we can draw a line and say all religious people are bad or just plain stupid . On the other hand , while we are proud to have gotten out from under the beliefs in the false God(s) bit , I also feel we ,as a group , can't claim to building many hospitals or other major good for the population in general good works .

While waiting for a doctor's appointment , the only magazine left available was a gentleman's magazine . An article there , taught men to always do everything their wives asked them to do wrong , so the wife would take the chore from them , do it correctly , and never ask them to do it ever again . An online friend from Tiwan wrote to me that her husband informed her that she should do all the household chores , that way , should anything ever happen to him , she would know she could handle everything . I had to tell her , men only had one lesson to teach women . They teach us , that we really don't need them .

Some time back I received a notice from my HOA telling me I had a weed growing in my front lawn . Originally from Maryland , I was somewhat confused . In Maryland , crab grass is considered a highly invasive weed , and the only other thing , at least the only green thing in my yard was clover . Clover puts nitrogin into the soil and is planted as a cash crop by farmers . But I had noticed that the crab grass was grown evrywhere as lawns in Texas . I wrote back , although it was brown and ugly , if I removed the crab grass , the soil would wash away , as it seemed to be the only thing holding it in place . She responded that clover was highly invasive and I needed to remove it .

I know one or two people , who were scheduled for needed surgeries , who've made significant arrangements , taken those dependent on their care to other relatives several states away , in preparation for their own surgeries , who've been notified that their surgeries have been canceled due to the overwhelming admittance of unvaccinated corona virus cases at the hospitals . If they can't be bothered to get vaccinations , which are being offered for free , and without an appointment , just show up , then maybe they are the ones who should be refused admittance .
