Reading through the replies listed here , I am amazed at how many have agreed in some manner that simply staying alive , was their greatest accomplishment . I think both successfully raising kids and earning a higher level of education , may be close to sharing second place . So far , like many here , I've managed all three . We need to celebrate !

I use the scooters , too . I noticed one day , that the scooter users in the grocery always seemed to be so down . Got to thinking , what could I do to make them smile . So one day , I pulled my scooter next to another , turned to that one and said , "Hey , you wanna race ? " Cracked them up ! Nobody ever says , "Yes ." but they always wear a grin for being asked . I also noticed that the small kids in the grocery carts are very interested , so if it seems like the parent won't object , I grin and give them a high five . They get a kick out of that , too . It's not a scooter of shame , unless you make it so . Wanna race ? :-)

I've been going through this , as well . Had my real lenses replaced with acrylic some years back , then started having laser treatments - at least 14 on each eye . When they reached an end to that they started poking needles into my eyeballs . At one point I had started getting the large print books , and was afraid I wouldn't b able to read at all in a short while , but although I still wear glasses , I am back to reading regular print .

One , there is likely to be more damage from the road side , whether from an accidental horse/wagon or from an intentional hit and run con artist . The other consideration was the servants would empty the bed pans by tossing the night's accumulation out through the upper story window . Sometimes there was a warning , "Look out below ." I moved to a new job at work , and had been there , perhaps a year and a half, and was approaching the office , when one of the men , politely held the door for me , then commented , you see , this is why men get paid more than women for the same job . I responded that in the year and a half I'd been there , this was the first time anyone had held the door for me , however , I had held the door for men carrying things , therefore , didn't he think I should be the one earning more for the same job ?

My best guess would be , when anyone works up the courage to ask someone out , and is rejected , even if it's kindly done , it will hurt . On the other hand accepting a date , just so you won't hurt their feelings , can be ever more hurtful , in the long run . And I'd rather just be friends , does not mean call me and we'll spend tonight hanging out at my house , where you can pressure me into something I didn't want in the first place.

Just saw an article on Facebook , about the , " husband stitch. " It seems there are some doctors who take it upon themselves to not only stitch a woman up after she gives birth , but stitch more than was required without the woman's consent , which has often resulted on ongoing pain during sex , to the point that it has caused the break up of marriages , because sex is so very painful for the woman . Something to look into if sex has suddenly become painful for you after you've given birth .

Depending on my mood at time , I like both . Generically speaking , I find the fantasy garb more interesting , and they can add creatures not likely to ever been seen in ordinary life . Hard science fiction , is full of possibilities , and often tells of things that do indeed eventually come true . Technology has changed reality greatly during my lifetime , and there are more changes to come . I'm reasonably certain hard science fiction contributes to the reality of our future .
