I will be the very first to admit , I have absolutely no experience with fabrication machinery , and experience provides education in how to handle mechanical problems , that general knowledge would not provide . I gather , you have had training in your specific field , and have been taught the formulas which apply to this problem . In general terms , as you've already pointed out , cold makes metals shrink . Likewise heat makes them expand . Oil helps to reduce friction , which causes metals to heat and thereby expand , which may have caused the problem in the first place . If I ran into a similar problem I think I would try to attack it from all four points . First , let it cool . Second , apply the appropriate viscosity of oil . Third , as you already mentioned , chill the parts which are too big . Four , heat the parts that are too small , to get them to expand . Unfortunately , I don't think you can run the equipment for very long , in this state , if you can get it running at all . But you may be able , once they are loosened , to remove the problematic part . That said , it would make more sense to me , to remove the offending part , take it to the shop , and either make a new part , but the correct size , or , if possible shave down a part that is a trifle too big . I am sorry , I can not provide you with a specific formula , as I don't have that training . To keep from getting fired , you may consider asking your boss for instructions , If he knows the correct answer , you may pump up his ego by asking him . If he doesn't know the answer , then he doesn't know any more than you do .

Mensa , like Agnostic.com , is a social organization , where people of a like mind with interests in common , may share time together . Throughout my school years , I always felt a bit of a misfit . I didn't fit in with kids my own age , nor were they comfortable around me . My friends tended to be girls a couple of years older than I was . Consider , for instance , if you as an adult , spent all of your time with children . You may love being around them , and they may look up to you , but you would miss out being around adults . Or consider the concept of jocks vs. nerds , which is so often shown in movies . It's nice to be able to socialize with people who are at your own level .

A lot of huge Metropolitan areas are basically being abandoned , schools aren't being supported , life supporting natural resources are running short due to contamination , government agencies which cleaned the air , are being dismantled so that corporations can continue to contaminate the water and soil .

At this point , I have no expectations . I sincerely feel that , as you said , it's easy to everyone out . I like my life and who I am . The chances that I'll meet anyone who'll actually make life better are much , much smaller than the chance of becoming involved with someone who'll make it a whole lot worse . The last several men who have shown any interest , wanted me to , "loan," them ,which I had no expectation of ever seeing returned , wanted to move in , so they could live like a king at my expense , had habits , I have no desire to deal with (smoking , alcoholism , drugs , financial problems , dominance issues ) , and had no skills or interest in anything beneficial to me . These days , since I can no longer do as much as I used to do , when I was younger , if I can't manage something on my own , I hire someone . I am very glad , I prepared well for my own future .

When I was approaching retirement , I bought a home to retire to . My ,"little," brother phoned our Mom and said to her , she should tell me to get rid of my books , before I move . When she told me that , I told her the , "new to me ," house I'd just bought , has a library , I'm not getting rid of any of my books . She and I had a great laugh . Many of my library shelves are double stacked , and I have three additional book cases , as well . When I was small , Mom located whatever public libraries were anywhere near where we lived , she'd get herself a library card , and each week , she'd borrow as many books as her card would permit , getting books for each of us , as well as for herself .

My daughter had friends over for D & D weekly . At one point , I learned one of our core group of 14 , had been raped . I did not want to address the issue directly , but wanted her to understand that all of us were on her side , and it was not something she should be ashamed of . I DM'd my first and only time , creating a story with the villian as a rapist . After the game , others of the group talked to me about their experiences . Of the group of 14 , four had been raped , one of whom was male . I do think D & D can be used in a beneficial way , although I find most are out to , " kill ," what ever strange creatures turn up .

If , for instance , you were either emotionally or physically estranged from them , for a long period of time , it may be more like , you lost them long ago . My Mom moved to a different country over 50 years before she died . Typically it involves a lot of sitting , and after the initial investment , you can take the instrument with you , if you move , or , if you decide you're no longer interested in that instrument , you can sell it to someone else . The Appalachen (sp) Trail runs along the entire east coast , and provides a few thousand miles of hiking trails , over varied terrain . You won't make friends to do activities with , if you choose to spend all your time sitting at home by yourself , focusing only on things you don't like or want to do .

Typically it involves a lot of sitting , and after the initial investment , you can take the instrument with you , if you move , or , if you decide you're no longer interested in that instrument , you can sell it to someone else . The Appalachen (sp) Trail runs along the entire east coast , and provides a few thousand miles of hiking trails , over varied terrain . You won't make friends to do activities with , if you choose to spend all your time sitting at home by yourself , focusing only on things you don't like or want to do . While you named those things individually , even though you hinted there may be some things on the list you may be interested in , you did not acknowledge any of those , only that they might be fun if there were others to do them with you . So go back to the list , name the things you would be interested in doing , if you had friends , ** now go to those things , and make friends there .**

Enjoyed reading a lot of Heinlein's SciFi books , although I don't remember that particular comment . Studies have routinely shown , woman , receive less money for doing the same work the men are doing , put in a full day at work , come home to do nearly all of the house work and care for the family , while many men become couch potatoes , for which we receive no recognition or respect . Guess what ? We don't need you any more !

True , the other post I wrote you , has disappeared . The SCA , is the Society for Creative Anachronism , and is made up of people interested in re-enacting Medieval History , creating and wearing the garb , armor , battles , courts , foods , camping , even horses . Perhaps you'd be interested in learning to fly planes , camping with teenagers , search and rescue missions , and military uniforms ? Try joining the CAP (Civil Air Patrol) . You might consider learning scuba diving ? Volunteering at fire houses and learning to be an EMT . You could volunteer at your local hospital . Your life seems to be more stationary . If you wish to remain stationary , check out your local gaming store . On weekends they have table top games available . You may want to check out your local libraries. They teach computer classes , they have senior movie nights and offer local museum trips . Check with your local YMCA or YWCA , many have pools available and you could work out in their gym and go swimming . You may try either roller skating or ice skating at your local skating rinks , if you're only interested in Friday nights and not the whole weekend as some of my other suggestions usually take up . Join a motor cycle club . Go horse back riding . My daughter is involved with a horse shoe tossing group , that meets every weekend . My brother loved his corvette and he and his wife would go on planned group Corvette road trips with other Corvette owners . You could sign up for some fun classes at your local community college such as oil or acrylic painting , ceramics , foreign languages , knitting , sewing . Had a friend who was in his late thirties , who was researching his family history , who was also interested in marrying a virgin . He joined a geneology group at his local Catholic Church , where he met and married a former nun. While I haven't tried it indoors , I do have some growing in a planter . I suspect , if you have it in a sunny window and water as needed , it should do well .
