My younger brother was just a year and a half younger than I was . I remember we moved from the first house my parents owned before I turned 6 . I was very definitely unsupervised . At the opposite end of the back alley there was a partial concrete block wall that made a perfect stairway to the roof of someone's shed , that connected to a garage , that connected to the roof of a row of town houses . Those had a false bit of wall sticking up and we went up there and looked over the false wall , until someone told the bar tender in one that had been converted into a local bar , that we were on his roof . He came out and yelled at us , but had no clue how we got there . I remember going to the Noxema factory and watching the trucks pulling in and out . Just before my sixth birthday we moved to , "the country ." Although I don't remember how old I was at the time , I do remember walking one day to Friendship Airport , which later became known as Baltimore /Washington International Airport , and watching the planes taking off and landing . My brother later told me he had done that as well .
