My folks drove from Maryland to Florida one year , with no more than gas/restroom stops . Once we reached Florida , we stopped at a motel , and slept . I woke up and woke Mom to tell her I was hungry . She said go back to sleep . Later , when we actually did get up , the motel owner told my folks they had worried about us , because they'd slept for over 24 hours straight . A different trip was th Maine . When we reached Main , my folks stopped at a restaurant that was built to look like a boat . It was packed . We were escorted to a table at the back end of the restaurant and handed menus . Dad looked at the prices , and we all got up and left . To me , a road trip meant sitting in the back seat , bored stiff for days at a time . I didn't consideration those vacations .

For the longest time , each time I saw anyplace advertising get your shots , I'd check out their pharmacy only to learn either they didn't have the vaccine , or if they did and I logged in for an appointment , they had no appointments available . Finally went to a local hospital and managed to get an appointment , ten days from my visit , then another three weeks after that , before I can get the second shot . So this coming Wednesday , I should be good to go . And at the rate things are going , by then , I'll most likely be needing a booster shot to cover the variations .

I do think it's really sad , that folks born and raised in this country , can't use two and three letter words correctly . Two , too , and to , being a great example . Used to be they taught grammar and punctuation in schools . These days , I've seen entire paragraphs with none . Comments make no sense , when you can't tell where one begins and ends . Advertisements and published papers look as if they were written by third grade students . I've been paying taxes for over sixty years , a large portion of which goes to providing twelve or thirteen years of .," free ," education for all children , and they become young adults and can't even get a simple fast food order correct . Then they complain about not being able to earn a decent income . They think it's all because the upper crust aren't being fair in dishing out the pay checks . Truth is , they are incapable of doing even the lowest level of unskilled work .

One of the life lessons I've learned is , when people complain about other's behavior more often than not , it's because that person is guilty of what they are accusing others of . For instance , if a husband , "works late ," because in reality he's having an affair , he will think , "If I'm late getting home because I'm having sex with someone else, then what is my wife doing ? She must be having an affair ," so he goes home in a rage and beats up the unsuspecting and innocent wife . Likewise , if Scott feels Christians need an underground railroad for protection , it's because he feels they have a right to destroy all non Christians .

I've got corn and peas sprouting , my chives were looking great , until the cat decided to roll around on them . Guess he prefers that onion scent to the mint he was previously rolling in . The aspargus I planted last year , didn't seem to winter well , so I stuck some more in . My Tennessee Ostrich ferns have definately made a surprising come back after our late season freeze as have the Mexican Petunias and the Eyes-so-blue .

When I bought my place , there were ferns planted in the back yard . We had a very cold night and they died . I replaced them with Tennessee Ostrich Ferns , which can survive lower temperatures . Then this year , we had a week of below freezing temperatures . It did a real number on most of my plants , and I thought many were permanently goners . It took a bit lnger than I anticipated , but they are coming back from the roots .
