In my experience , the men in my life put next to nothing into a relationship , but wanted a hell of a lot from me . It didn't work out . I posted a request to see what people were willing to put into a relationship and what they expected to get out of one . Again , there was very little anyone was willing to invest in a relationship . My cats put more into a relationship than people are willing to do , so I'm withdrawing my dating site search . I'm happier on my own .
My folks weren't educated or rich , but Dad was good with his hands . He improved and/or expanded every place we lived in . I used what I learned from him , bought property , and improved them , rented them out , then sold them at a profit . At one point , I owned four properties .

Mom spent the last 52 years of her life living in Bermuda . I stopped counting my round trips to the northern tip of the Bermuda triangle after 14 . I've also visited Mexico , England , Scotland , Wales , Austria , Bavaria , and France . Oh , and California . It's foreign too , in it's own way .
Due to an ongoing stream of scammers on all dating sites , my permanent policy is that , no matter what the justification you give , I never , any circumstances send money .
Sapiosexual . High IQ , voracious reader , love Sci/Fi/Fantasy , non-smoker , seldom have any alcohol , don't use illegal drugs . Two adult children on their own . Two cats their Mom left with me .
I like being me . I like the person I have become . I like where I am at this point , in my life . I like what I've accomplished . And now , retirement suites me . I live in a nice little castle , with a long skinny moat out back . I enjoy LARPs , SciFiFantasy Cons , playing D & D , an occasional movie , catching up on all the TV shows I missed , while putting myself through college ( earned a BS in IFSM ) , swimming , and a little gardening .

 I am so fed up with even hearing about our Pres, that I simply remove the source , when anyone posts anything about Trump .
  those who think it's important , I don't wear make up , and don't have any on , in the photos . I truly wish this body was healthier than it is , and thinner , but I still manage . 
 I prefer people who are constructive , not distructive . I  have no desire to be with those who choose to smoke , use illegal drugs , or are alcoholic . Absolutely will not put up with abuse of any kind , I'm better than that . I'm not here to bail you out . My donations go to Planned Parenthood . Interesting , when I first signed up , they were showing 9 in the 80 % and 90 % ranges . Eventually , I posted that I wondered , with changes and updates , over time , if they re-evaluated the percentages . Which they immediately did . Apparently , over time , I raised the bar .

When I was young , my brother and I shared the kitchen , until , eventually , my father built two additional bedrooms onto the house . When they had dug out the trench for the foundation , they'd left a lot of hard red clay around the new rooms . Mom suggested that I make a garden under my bedroom window . I got a wheel barrow full of fertilizer from the former chicken coop , and dumped it there , making a half circle . I found some wild strawberry plants , up in the back acreage , and thought the leaves would make a nice green against the rocks I used to outline my garden . My aunt gave me some yellow day lilies , which I continued to grow for years . And I bought a package of basal flowers , which were very happy there . As it turned out , the strawberries decided they preferred a shadier side of the house , so they sent out runners , which took root , and the ones in the sun died out . Never thought plants would move themselves if they didn't like the climate .

Something that has happened to me , both standing in line at a food truck in Washington , DC , and on a crowded bus in Mexico City , Mexico . The responses here are true , right on . But it's only half the story . Being open and honest about yourself is the best way to establish an honest relationship . I remember , when I was 5 , and we moved from Baltimore City , to , " the country . " The country noise kept me awake , because they were different . Instead of a constant murmur of people's voices , cars , etc. I heard crickets and frogs , In the early morning , there were birds , and maybe a rooster crowing . Once Mom explained what I was hearing , to me , it took no time to adjust . The nights are darker , too . No street lights . Fewer cars on the roads late a night . And while horror movies show scary country , there are a LOT more murders ocurring in the cities , than in the country .
