I came out of Walmart one day , on a scooter , only to find a red sports car parked on the stripped lines , next to my driver's side doors . An elderly gentleman , who told me he'd recently had by pass surgery , offered to help me get the groceries from the scooter basket into my van, since the scooter did not fit between my van and the illegally parked car . He slipped a little , and opened my door so fast . It struck the side of the sports car , He apologized . I said , " What accident ? I hadn't seen a thing . A very muscular man , came from Walmart's and got into the sports car , while my scooter was parked behind his car , as the gentleman off loaded my basket . When he finished , we chatted for a bit , then said our fair wells and he left . I pulled my scooter up to the driver's window , and pointed out to the sports driver , that not only was he parked in the handicapped parking , without a handicapped permit , but no one was allowed to park on the stripped lines . That was a no parking area . He commented , he didn't park in one of the further out spaces , which there were plenty of , because he didn't feel like walking the extra distance to the store . Wonder how he's going to feel , when he finds the dent in his passenger side door .....

I retired from Maryland to Texas . Being an extreme introvert , I found it difficult to make new friends . Then I put my mind to it , to come up with some solutions . I was the new ," guy ," when I moved here so knew how difficult it was to make friends . Two houses across the street caught fire , it was serious and both families had to move out . I thought , there was both a topic of conversation and a suitable house warming gift as well . Any time someone new moved in my immediate vacinity , I bought them a smoke detector and a fire extinguisher . I would drop by with the gifts and talk to the about the wood fences , popular in this area , and how the fire spread from one house to the other , via these wood fences . This was a bit expensive , but , for the most part , encouraged a friendly neighborhood . Facebook has an event option . Go to local events , that interest you , first you'll enjoy your new local , second you may make some new friends . Join clubs in areas that interest you , to make friends with shared interests .

I would think just dressing in unisex clothing , jeans and a tee shirt , for instance , could get them through high school .
