The second greatest expense in people lives being transportation is not there yet in economic and pollution wise. I teach people how the fish to survive in the most affordable way. And you teach people how buy a fish from China and be owned as they sell the most ebike,solar and wind power too. Not bad , yet a very long ways to go. I couldn't run a business or carry my equipment on an ebike. average e-bike chain should be good for 2-3k miles. Depending on the type of motor. I got 350,000km on my Honda fit, ready to dump it soon and upgrade to 6 cylinder for just a tiny bit more. My life more important than playing chicken on an ebike on the road. Transportation of a electric bike would be in this category as the second most expensive an adverage or poor person would have. I have a Honda fit 14 years old , that cost me $2000 five years ago. Out of 3 backup ebikes I've owned, they all ended up in the landfill in less than 2 years with an average cost $1500. Ebikes not wroth the hassle and overall cost. Where I make a tiny house I call tiny castle without the hassle. Sold nine houses so far. They are overall 1/10th to half cost compared to a adverage house. A fraction cost to buy, clean, fill furniture, insurance, heat, cook, and most of all buys freedom to do many other things in life. It's portable so rehooking to the grid easy compared to every person for every 10 years moving and costing $50,000 to rehookup and so on. . I don't have to borrow from my banker. Because charges me to have build the cost of two houses for him , who I don't know, just so I can build one house for myself. Also I cover the third most expense in life that being urban farming. Both made and sold locally, loyally and creating jobs and don't have to deal with endless cheap disposalable products from China filling landfill faster than anything.

@Lizard_of_Ahaz Your bike sounds better than mine. Mine cost $2500 yet best ever had ebike in BC. It didn't take the hills that well or the cold , and humidity rusted fast, the electric parts. That almost lasted 2 years. Too expensive and time consuming to have it serviced and breaking down often. My insurance for my car is only $400 a year. Don't need a helmet or risk my life greater and it carrys all my equipment for work. Still an ebike might be better alternatives than when everything collapses and people who want to assume they are free. Give yourself credit, for things that you are smart about. There is nothing I can do for people who are not smart enough to learn how change to a new way of thinking, when things are not working out.
