I did not ask for or earn my atheism any more than believers did their theism, yet in this country (at least) it seems enough to have rendered me hopelessly single. I have kind of given up looking, so my coworkers signed me up on this site to try to find me a nice girl who doesn't believe a bunch of nonsense.

I guess since this site should host different caliber women, maybe I can just list the unpopular things from the start to weed out anyone who sees one as a deal breaker.
-I am a cat person ALL THE WAY. I don't understand dogs at all or why anyone would ever want one.
-I think Michael Vick got a raw deal. Animal torture is animal torture. You should not get to promote the torture of animals by buying meat or animal byproducts then judge him for dog fighting.
-Never wanted kids.

Stocks and housing tank and have scammers, too. Ask 2008 and all those fuckin' bankers that were suckering the fuck outta people on their loans who ended up making a ton of money while the people lost fuckin' everything if crypto is the only risky investment in town. Crypto has real-world applications and solves actual problems like runaway inflation unlike all that bullshit with unregulated bundling of shit loans and bribing people to give them AAA ratings. If you honestly think those motherfuckers care about the security of your loans or investments in any way, you're delusional. They are obviously more than happy to burn some shit to the ground if they think they can make a quick buck in the process at your expense. Crypto at least is decentralized without a small cabal pulling strings and plotting to fuck you over. This is not the end of crypto. I can't wait for the day when we can cut out middlemen like Western Union. That's a company that's made 5.3 billion dollars just by charging you a shit ton of fees to send your hard earned dollars to someone or perform a currency conversion. Ain't that a crock of shit.

ChestRockfield comments on Dec 18, 2022:
There's really no difference between the two. "Jesus Christ the son of God" existing means that he had magical powers. If you're taking about someone who wasn't specifically that, then you're not really talking about anything more than one of the random of the hundred+ billion people that have lived.

ChestRockfield comments on Dec 26, 2022:
It's completely nonsensical. At least prayer to the Christian conception of God, who, in their definition, is all knowing. This would mean he already knows what's going to happen, already knows whether or not you'll pray, and what is going to be the outcome of what you're praying for, making your prayer irrelevant.
The Five Laws Of Stupidity [youtu.be]
ChestRockfield comments on Dec 31, 2022:
This is the same dumb-ass shit Frayedbear always posts. After looking into Cipolla, it seemed like a joke (contrary to what the narrator of the video thinks). IF he was joking, then people shouldn't be quoting it as if it were a serious theory. If he wasn't joking, then he was a fuckin' idiot and people shouldn't be quoting it. But in either case, anyone who thinks these are good arguments is a fuckin' idiot. Enjoy... These are Cipolla's five fundamental laws of stupidity: 1. Always and inevitably everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation. *Patently false, though anyone who knows anything about the word 'always' wouldn't be dumb enough to make this claim. There are, inevitably, people who think ALL humans are stupid, thus, it is impossible that EVERYONE underestimates the number of stupid people because there can't be a number higher than all.* 2. The probability that a certain person (will) be stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person. *Again, false. There are obviously characteristics that would increase the probability that a person is stupid. I shouldn't need to go into this. For instance, if you find out that a person averaged 4 car accidents a year with stationary objects every year since they started driving, do you really think there is not even a slightly higher probability they're stupid?* 3. A stupid person is a person who causes losses to another person or to a group of persons while himself deriving no gain and even possibly incurring losses. *Not only is it not stupid to cause losses to another person / other people who are enemies, it's actually quite smart especially if the person is your enemy through no fault of your own and/or the potential loss you would incur is not something you value highly.* 4. Non-stupid people always underestimate the damaging power of stupid individuals. In particular non-stupid people constantly forget that at all times and places and under any circumstances to deal and/or associate with stupid people always turns out to be a costly mistake. *Again, the 'always' with this guy, and he really doubled down this time with two 'always' an 'all times' and a 'constantly'. Look, there's a very easy way to disprove this one. Stupid people buy houses, too. If realtors refused to deal with them, they'd all be losing out on all the commission from their purchases. So in fact, the exact opposite would be true: it would be a costly mistake not to deal with them. This "law" also assumes that you always have a choice who to deal with when you have to deal with someone. That, of course, is also false.* 5. A stupid person is the most dangerous type of person. *Patently false. A smart person who wishes to cause harm is obviously more dangerous than a...

There was a woman at work that went on and on with this business and how forgiveness is a choice and I should choose to forgive people the wronged me for me. It took every bit of restraint in me not to tell her to just forgive him and choose to feel good about it.

ChestRockfield comments on Jan 11, 2023:
The vast majority of that sounded like the ramblings of a schizophrenic. And in the end what did he say, really? He redefined what the phrase "belief in God" means in a manner that virtually no one would be able to use it, then said it doesn't apply to him (as it wouldn't apply to anyone). That, to me, is akin to saying nothing. Not sure what the "good points" were that you took away with you... I was hoping the pronouns bit was in here. I used to say I was about as liberal as one could be, but I can't say that anymore. I hate that any of that is even aligned with a political party/platform because of how much unintended harm it's causing. Everything in our political system is zero sum, so when you spend political capital on stuff like that, you don't have it when you really need it. If liberals had been hardline‐sensible-policy would Republicans have won in '16? Would they have a supermajority on the SCOTUS? Would women be unnecessarily dying IN HOSPITALS because of anti-abortion laws? Just a couple weeks ago someone got pissed at me on here and blocked me because I called out the extreme stupidity of Democrats in Congress spending their last few days in power enacting a law about big cat ownership. A law that *maybe* affects one in a million Americans while tens of millions of American women of child-bearing age have lost their reproductive rights. It's idiotic shit like that that costs them votes. Do I think that the arguments that stuff like this causes people to vote against the Democrats make sense? No, but that doesn't stop the loss of the vote.

I agree with the comments below, but I will add that, just like almost everything else these days, it seems like there may be a bit of over-correction on this. I've been accused of mansplaining when it was simply just a case of explaining something that was being misunderstood. The other situation has also happened where a female doctor who can't get enough of calling out mansplaining (which to be fair, she has probably encountered a lot of discrimination) doctorsplained something to me that as a veteran nurse of almost 20 years was a very elementary task. The sex/gender of the person giving and receiving the X-plaining is largely irrelevant. Either you're being a rude asshole or you're not, so to label it as a sex/gender thing is silly in my opinion.

Bill Maher's wisdom and humor might save us from this ignorant turn toward Cryptocurrency.
ChestRockfield comments on May 1, 2021:
I wish there was a way to tally all the electricity that is needed/used to support other currencies. Crypto doesn't need banks and vaults, tellers driving to work, cash registers, money counters, coin return machines, coin wrappers, bill wrappers, bureaus of people whose whole job in life is trying to prevent counterfeiting, companies who make counterfeit detecting devices, all the electricity used by people staying past close to count their money. The list is endless. I just started thinking of this today as a result of his video and while I think Bitcoin mining ends at some point in the next couple decades, the above uses of electricity it seems will stay the same (or probably grow). And crypto * does * do something pretty important, so unless governments regulate it to death, it'll probably always have value. There's no central bank or government to declare it no longer a currency, so there's no reason to think it will ever be worthless like many paper currencies have become. If you think about it, even US cash will devalue itself to practically nothing given enough time of inflation, so you kind of have to invest in something. Everything is a risk though. I don't blame people for betting on something that's finally not controlled by 'the man'. The arguments against it sound just like all the people that have been telling me for two decades I should sell all my Magic cards because they weren't going to be worth anything soon, and every year I didn't listen while they consistently outperformed the stock market. Is that investment any worse than the housing market that people manipulate and destroy? The stock market, a lot of which is bets on non-physical things, or futures, or whatever other shady stuff like micro trading that's being used to siphon off value? I guess bonds might be safer, unless the next insurrection is successful and actually topples the government? Nobody knows. Invest in what you know and diversify, that's the best you can do.

If you've had Covid, you have natural immunity, likely for life. [msn.com]
ChestRockfield comments on Jun 9, 2021:
I would like to read the actual study instead of the media interpretation of the results. Either way, I think the conclusion drawn in the title is a misrepresentation of what the data they quoted shows. 1. The study was only 5 months long. They were previously saying that natural immunity could last at least 6 months, so to say that immunity that they already suspected could last over six months that lasted 5 means you have immunity for life is like saying because you didn't knock a chick up for 8 straight months of unprotected sex during her pregnancy that you'll never have to worry about using protection again because it's likely impossible for you to impregnate her. 2. The Cleveland Clinic did not do Covid testing on employees prior to vaccination, so they have no way to know who had been infected unless they happened to have had a positive test independent of this study. The Cleveland Clinic also did not routinely test employees, nor would they test employees that had a known exposure unless they exhibited symptoms they deemed severe enough to warrant a test. 3. There are documented cases of previously infected people who were reinfected (or had the disease "reactivated" to use the word the CDC came up with that's a distinction without a difference), so the claim that they didn't see reinfection during a time most sources agreed you'd still have natural immunity proves that conclusion doesn't follow logically from the premises. Additionally, this information from Cleveland Clinic's own website leads me to believe the narrative from your links was spun by the news sources, not put out by the Cleveland Clinic. https://www.google.com/amp/s/health.clevelandclinic.org/can-you-get-covid-19-more-than-once/amp/

Why do you identify as being agnostic?
ChestRockfield comments on Jun 19, 2021:
I suppose I'm agnostic about those things too, and atheist about all of them. If you want to consider theoretical degrees of agnosticism, I guess I feel there's a greater degree of certainty about unicorns and faeries because there's no currently-unknown information they can fill the gap for and they are purported to be on Earth and visible. But then as soon as you add parameters to the concept of god (like using the Christian conception of god) the tables flip and it becomes more possible for unicorns to have existed because the Christian conception of god is a logical impossibility.

I don't feel bad for him. Basically don't care at all, but I do feel like he's really a self-important douche. No one should give a fuck if he's no longer going to bang dudes, and the fact that he thought he needed to say it like it's some big fucking deal, and that there was going to be a big response that he'd need to attempt to reply to, outs him as an asshole to me.
(Now to get a bunch of folks mad, a little Bad Taste.

How about the original? Two in the pink, one in the stink.

South Dakota and Vermont have a lot in common.
ChestRockfield comments on Jul 10, 2021:
If a ton of Republicans in super low population states die, we could have a bunch of rich democrats from California and New York move in during election years and steal several senators and electoral votes.
I remember keeping dimes in my penny loafers so I'd always be able to call if I had to.

I actually want to a McDonald's once that had a pay phone that was only 10¢. I had to get change and use it so I could say I did...
When I was a little kid I thought all cats were girls & all dogs were boys.
ChestRockfield comments on Jul 10, 2021:
I think a lot of kids thought that; I did.

I found this to be 100% effective.
ChestRockfield comments on Jul 13, 2021:
Until it's not. You should try that as a vaccination for polio for your kids.
Doctors make mistakes ONLY A FRACTION OF MEDICAL ERRORS ARE REPORTED ☠️Death by ...
ChestRockfield comments on Jul 16, 2021:
Medical mistakes while * trying to help * are different than drawing down on a black man for no other reason than he's a * black* man and shooting him dead. That is an egregious false equivalency. But* you* should avoid all doctors, all the time, no matter the reason, especially if you have a crushing pain in your chest. #notmedicaladvice
What do you think is the biggest problem in the world and how would you solve it?
ChestRockfield comments on Jul 17, 2021:
Trying to exist post-truth. There is no solution, just wait for death.
Marjorie Taylor Greene suspended from Twitter over false COVID posts.
ChestRockfield comments on Jul 20, 2021:
I agree 100%. Wildgreens and that other loud-mouthed, covid-denying, anti-vaxxer moron should both be banned.
I almost did not click on this little youtube video BUT I am a huge fan of Graham Norton.
ChestRockfield comments on Jul 20, 2021:
I love how many people hate that fucking pile of shit.
Here we go again.
ChestRockfield comments on Jul 21, 2021:
I'm pretty happy with a 94% infection and death rate among anti-vaxxers. I say let the good times roll. There are a few people here I super hope get a nice fat helping of the Delta variant.
[al.com] This is very sad. I hope the "vaccines are dangerous" promoters have a conscience.
ChestRockfield comments on Jul 22, 2021:
People who claim the vaccine is dangerous are dumb fucking sociopaths and they should be banned from platforms for spreading dangerous misinformation. Also, they're fucking idiots, so they won't ever be able to recognize they're wrong until they or their loved ones are dying (and maybe not even then) which is why I hope all of them get Covid and die as soon as possible.
Who knows what white privilege is?
ChestRockfield comments on Jul 22, 2021:
"White privilege does not mean you have it better than anyone who isn't white, it just means that all things being equal life is alway easier when you are white." I stopped after this. How do you not see that sentence is self-contradictory?
Vaccinations are up 14% from last week.
ChestRockfield comments on Jul 24, 2021:
Let them vaccinate or let them die. I'd take either, but prefer the latter only so that we don't have them fighting against us during the next inevitable pandemic.
Why is this a thing?
ChestRockfield comments on Jul 25, 2021:
Holy shit, that's the cuddle bag I invented for my ex girlfriend's cat!!
I remember those days , can we get that back
ChestRockfield comments on Jul 26, 2021:
What's wrong with labeling a party racist when its leaders enact and support racist policies? It's possible we wouldn't be in as bad of shape if people called out racism back then, too.
