On a separate line of thinking, however, it's hard to justify the legality of skinning animals alive and the illegality of fucking a sheep. And let us also look at some statistics that may speak to how well our policies did for each group of citizenry. US has had 2,657 out of every million people die, you've only had 118. We've also had between 2.5-3 times as many cases per million people as well. I don't even know how to begin to assess the differences in the economic impact between our countries as a result of the differences in how we handled it. I know it sucks there. I've heard from a number of people. But the benefits of the restrictions show. As for authoritarian governments, don't you worry, we'll be living under one very soon. @puff I disagree. A mandate doesn't remove consent. It isn't forced vaccination. Any reasonable person could understand the principle of a vaccine mandate given the appropriate conditions though. If the pandemic was caused be an aerodolized ebola, with the same scenario (the shot wouldn't prevent transmission, but it would prevent death >90% of cases, decrease the likelihood of someone you gave it to dying, and reduce the likelihood it would mutate and keep the pandemic going longer) but contraction without the shot is almost certain spread of the disease and death. Do you really think people with ebola should be allowed to walk around and participate in society? Of course not. So we agree in principle, we just disagree on where to draw the line.

That way, a company would have a disincentive to move overseas. Furthermore, to reduce the risk of companies that have a patent or one-of-a-kind item that they could force Americans to fork over the extra funds for, no copyright, trademark, or other IP protections would be afforded to companies that are no longer American. If you move your company to China to get cheap labor and low corporate tax, American companies would be free to produce their own versions of your product at will to undercut you and earn profits for America. I also think we should eliminate all deductions of any kind and use all that money to lower all tax rates for everyone equally, not shitty loopholes that only some can take advantage to completely eliminate their tax liability. A company like Amazon shouldn't be able to pay zero percent tax. I'm sure there's a million more things people a lot smarter than me could figure out. @DragonDust Oh, yeah, agreed. However, they wouldn't need all women. They wouldn't even need most women. They just need a concerted effort to register and vote for women's rights above all else. They'd have tons of men voting with them because women's rights are generally aligned with all the things I believe in, so those candidates would be mine, too. @DragonDust I didn't really make all that out, but I'll respond to individual parts. No amount of agreement makes something a fact. Conversely, no amount of disagreement stops a fact from being a fact. Women ARE a majority. IF they collectively cared about their rights and autonomy more than anything else (which, in my opinion, they should) THEN they could guarantee equality for themselves. That * IS * a fact no matter how many people disagree with it. The reasons * why * it hasn't happened also don't change it's a fact. I lost the thread in the water, abortion, tofu part and failed to find it again after that.

How sweet would an "open source" car be? Standardized frame, lights, connectors, everything. You could buy the standardized parts from any manufacturer and everything would be plug and play. The cars would all be boring and similar, but they'd be dirt cheap to buy, repair, upgrade, etc.
