Very interesting subject. There is still so much to be discovered and things we can not explain. I think it is obvious that there are "states" that we have not yet been able to define, that are not part of the quantum model. Maybe more research while using LSD would help.

I'm so sick of hearing about Jordan Peterson. As if there's no one else in the world.

Whiskey's not the drink I choose. I prefer the Scotsman's booze. Whisky, born of highland peat, And savoured full strength, slowly, neat.
Coffeo replies on May 20, 2018:
Yes! I've heard so-called 'experts' say that a dash of water is needed to bring out the flavour. I don't agree with them.
I was very lucky with this shot, which was taken in the grounds of Dartington Hall, Devon, England.
tipi comments on May 20, 2018:
It is a very nice photo. But churches built on peoples' suffering can not be a model. And humans must get back their rights, including celebrations. So let us not support fake (religious or other) celebrations! There are enough honest reasons to celebrate and to protect the endangered Terrian life. ...
Coffeo replies on May 20, 2018:
I like church architecture. I do not support the church. For me Christmas is purely secular, but it's still a holiday that I enjoy.

Yes. A fake Mississippi riverboat.

If this passes, my agnostic beliefs do not allow me to contribute to religious organizations, therefore, I won't be able to pay my taxes.

Good luck with that.

power is NOT energy over time, where did you get that from?
Coffeo replies on May 16, 2018:
@magicwatch Doesn't mean accepting nothing.

I can't see where anyone said it was. But actually, it is. (For a given amount of energy dissipated, the power is inversely proportional to the time.)
I've always found this topic fascinating [youtube.com]

I too have found this subject interesting, personally I think we are doomed in a perpetual recycling till we are deemed safe to exist in the greater universe! That means to be and express a true willingness to play without any thought of violence toward an other living thing. When we achieve this we...

I just read a book that was based there. I went online to get some history. If I can't visit in person, I can visit in my mind. Thanks for the photo.

Was that _The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society_? Good book. I enjoyed the book, but spent less than a day on the island.

@magicwatch Perhaps I should have added "anytime soon". Very logical, but not intuitive enough.

I don't live there, but I think it's quite common in the fjord district of western Norway. This photo was taken in June or July, early in the morning.

I hate Smokers as much as religious persons, enough said ?
Coffeo replies on May 10, 2018:
@BucketlistBob Back in 1973, when smoking on aircraft was still allowed, stuck beside a smoker all the way from San Francisco to Sydney. _Ghastly!_ (No non-smoking seats were available.)

I still have nightmares about weather balloons thanks to that place.
Coffeo replies on May 9, 2018:
@Jnei Ah, _The Prisoner_. Never saw it, but there's heaps of information about it at the souvenir shop. I didn't know weather balloons were involved.
A new Facebook friend got religious on me and here is what I said (correct me where I am wrong).
Coffeo comments on May 9, 2018:
Basically true, although there are still many unanswered questions. Also, I don't see this a being convincing to a religious person. But then, what is?
Coffeo replies on May 9, 2018:
@yuvid1 Yes, sort of. My mother was a believer but not a very regular church-goer. I went with my parents to church, which I quite liked, and was sent to Sunday school, which I hated, and quit when I discovered that it wasn't compulsory. Doubts already starting to surface. Nothing sudden. My father never spoke about religion — I have come to think he might have been a closet atheist who had promised not to try to influence me against the church.

What do you believe Shakespeare's (or De Vere's, take your pick!) religious beliefs were?
atheist comments on May 8, 2018:
Agnostic would be anachronistic, atheist would have been burnt at the stake, humanist not invented yet, so either Catholic or Protestant!
Coffeo replies on May 9, 2018:
@atheist I think they'd have had one each.
