I had a nun teacher in 1st, 3rd and 6th grade. They were real meanies. Me and a friend in 3rd grade had to write 200 times “I will not draw inappropriate pictures” after she caught us drawing “ Devils on motorcycles”.

I was. Most of my siblings went to Catholic school. We moved to the suburbs when I was young and I went to public school. We HAD to go to church every Sunday. That was non-negotiable. I tuned it out most of the time. It was so full of guilt and shame messages. I never liked it or believed it.
