Even if one or both are overturned, all that means s that the issue(s) go right back to the states to do what they feel is appropriate. Abortion was legal in New York before Roe Vs. Wade, and also had gay rights protections before the SCOTUS in 2015 made their decision.

That’s how it works on the state level. At least in some states. But not sure of all f them. In Wisconsin judges are elected to 10 year terms. Members of US Congress, US senate are elected to 2 and 6 years and President for 4. Similiary at the state level, here in NY at least, State Assembly and Senate members are elected to 2 year terms and Governor 4 years. All states are different with these numbers. In NY a Governor can run as long as he keeps getting elected where in New Jersey and Ohio the Governor is limited to two 4 year terms. So mostly things will have to change at the state level. But it makes no sense to have a far right US Supreme Court while most of the US is becoming lesser Conservative, especially Gen. Z and Millenials.

As someone who went to parochial school for 7 years, had Religious Instruction for 2, went to church for 18 years and baptized as catholic, I see what your saying about the church being a scam.......it is. And I remember hearing stories from a number of attendees about extra-marital affairs. At age 18 I said enough. But 9 years were to pass before I claimed myself to be a full blown Atheist. I figured out for myself on how to treat others as I liked to be myself. Best decision I ever made.

I was at a Military collectibles show years ago, and came across a book that described torture techniques that were used by former Soviet NKVD (Secret Police) and later by the SS in Nazi Germany.
