Unsound argument
DZhukovin replies on Apr 8, 2018:
Naturally formulated arguments are exempt from an evaluation of "sound" versus "unsound", and largely because in cases like the present one, it is already true. You are only giving an evaluation because you think that the logic is still being worked on, but every single part of that text is honest.

@NothinnXpreVails Sort of. I am basing my view off of textbooks and other primary references on political theory. I don't know of any technocratic sources on political theory, but I know that academia is basically the only place to learn about belief systems. So when someone wants to understand a political belief, they should look up the history of that belief, and look at the figureheads that publish or formulate that belief. From there, the person just reads on the subject matter more. From reading the book "How to Read" by Mortimer J. Adler & Charles Van Doren, apparently, there are about six ways a person can read a book.

Yeah, somewhat. Liberalism is part of a web of ideas, but in the USA, liberalism is the same thing as Democratic Socialism, and they can even be further to the left than that. The Democratic Party mainly establishes itself under the premises of leftism, which in the US entails collectivist social liberalism (which is pretty shit), marxian economics, etc. Liberals just occupy a sub-bloc in the Democratic Party's voting bloc, they're not the superset.

@jperlow Good question. Cultures that attack or weakly feature things like critical things like education, health, innovation, social life, hard work, politically essential ideologies, etc. are inferior in nature because they not only perform inferior, but they produce inferior people and are already inferior by property. Cultures that fall on the less developed spectrum are far more likely to meet the criteria of an inferior culture; sometimes cultures are poor and decrepit, but still have positive values, rather than negative ones.

DZhukovin replies on Mar 31, 2018:
@SheThatB Okay, so your idea is to regulate in the same way that do alcohol, tobacco, and drug use. How they do that would be up to the politicians and who is in their pockets. I use your input to show that this idea was fully addressed. How is that going to remotely accomplish anything? All of those regulations you mentioned are founded on the premise that everyone matures in the same rate, with the same maturation profile, and the laws surrounding alcohol, tobacco, and drugs are so extensive, that it only complicates the issue of what the proper size of government is. That suggestion is actually very mistaken. I don't know what you were told about the real proficiency that any government has in doing its functions, but they are extremely minimal and you have been misinformed.

Does anyone have any thoughts on heuristics versus strong induction?
JeffB comments on Mar 26, 2018:
Can you elaborate?
DZhukovin replies on Mar 29, 2018:
Yes, I can elaborate. A lot of people have that ability. All jokes aside, a heuristic is an array that creates a dummy array that makes conclusions that do not actually follow in a logical way. For example, if you have the statement "There is a goat", and you think that the goat must have something else with it, based off of that statement, it's a heuristic. Strong induction is when there is no data loss in the array. So for example, if you take that same statement I just mentioned and think "Okay, so we have fur, hooves, etc." then that is a true statement. It is a good practical way to avoid the problem of affirming the subjective for every single time that such a problem is in the horizon.

This is the exact reason why materials need to improve. We have tons of superconductors lying in the realm of possibilities, and we do nothing because we want to pay through the nose for energy.
Does anyone have any thoughts on heuristics versus strong induction?
mordant comments on Mar 26, 2018:
Shortcuts / rules of thumb / heuristics are fine for inconsequential matters, such as, say, what color bedsheets to buy or boxers vs briefs or whatever. When it comes to one's beliefs about reality, then a little more rigor is in order.
DZhukovin replies on Mar 29, 2018:
I guess, but that is just lazy thinking and I will use an analogy to to explain why: If I had zero gas in the tank, I'd just get more gas, I would not try to do anything until I was prepared.

For what it's worth, in 1974 at the Bronx High School of Science, after the intriductory computer course, my projects were all heuristics and machine learning. This was on an HP 3000 E, a refrigerator-sized machine with 16 K of RAM and which relied on paper tape for external storage. So my thought...

A heuristic technique (/hjʊəˈrɪstɪk/; Ancient Greek: εὑρίσκω, "find" or "discover"), often called simply a heuristic, is any approach to problem solving, learning, or discovery that employs a practical method not guaranteed to be optimal or perfect, but sufficient for the immediate ...

Good pun at the end. You are right, babies do think like this. I was reading a bit on the nervous system, and apparently nerve cells follow six orders of magnitude. It's fantastic how logic develops in the body.
When dating, how long do you wait to tell someone you have a disability?
RavenCT comments on Mar 25, 2018:
My friends all forget I'm disabled. (It's not visible). But I can't imagine not letting someone know - and fairly soon. Certainly not a first date topic however.
DZhukovin replies on Mar 26, 2018:
So if you have a disability, but it's not visible, could we say you have divisibility?

There is a cool backstory to this one. I started off with some random simple geometric shapes, then kept interpolating with different filters in my pixel editor. The result? A resembling map of Northwestern Europe. I was astonished at the closeless of some of the lines, and I really do wonder how my mind comes up with things sometimes.
