If they thought they were the only one you were seeing then I expect your pickle jar is kind of full. Being honest is better than not. And for me dating one at a time would seem like a smoother road all around. Good luck. :)

It's soooooo hard to avoid. Either being treated as ordinary or treating another as ordinary. After time.things and people do become ordinary. And I would argue that finding that feeling of emotional normalcy..loving the ordinary.. is actually what we are looking for to a degree. Chaos sucks as an alternative. The turn of the screw is the search for the one who more or less shares your ordinary with you and just how exciting and fresh you can make your ordinary.

My hometown of Dalhousie, New Brunswick. In the 70's during my teens the town maxed out at about 8500. It has shrunk to just over 4K. Everyplace else I've lived has been more of an urban environment.

Can't speak to he conventional wisdom of this question but in my experience with people wealthier than I.. I'm not living paycheck to paycheck.. but I don't have the disposable income to be frivolous or whimsical with money either. .. when my children were in the little stages.. elementary grades, summer soccer, camp experiences, etc. I certainly met and hobnobbed with some significantly wealthy people simply because our kids went to school together. And even though we (the parents) got along well and in a couple of cases became quite good friends for a while it was obvious that the difference in our snack brackets would make it almost impossible to remain in each others orbits as friends.. let alone becoming a romantic partner. I guess a suggestion would be, on your coffee date, to ask questions that will give you an indication of her standards and expectations of her life's activities in the future. If you are talking rowboat and she's talking yacht you might want to save yourself some frustration and sort that out. Have fun on your date. :)

Yeah.. some tough times these days. Sorry to hear of it's affect on you. Don't want to minimize what's happening to your younger loved ones but limiting your exposure to the daily news cycle might lower your anxiety level. I don't think it's wise to wear blinders to reality but in difficult periods I also have to be aware of just what I can safely handle. in regards to larger issues I can't control. I can help my niece or nephew with tangible support concerning being bullied but I can't do anything about what a politician, or anyone in authority, does and says so better to just tune it out until my trigger moments dissipate. I hope things improve for your young 'uns.
