I am a live and let live type person but I'm changing these days. I have no idea why "have no gods before me" should be on court house walls. I see Job as god and the devil having a bet. I cannot except that we are all sinners because god's perfect plan had us get here through incest. It's hard for me to fathom praying and moaning, sack cloth and ashes. I hate statements like "do you know what god did then?" No, I do not, and neither do you. Importance of religion in daily life. I see none. Well, if they do let prayer be important in public schools maybe Johnny could ask god to allow him to do good on the test today, but let Bobby fail it. There is great importance here since god knows everything in advance anyway. Kiss his ass enough and maybe he will change something. Oh, sorry. That changes everything.

I hear you. My 2 daughters claim that they now believe "but just in a different way." This line of thought is exactly why we have over 4000 religious denominations today. I also seriously doubt anyone can demonstrate what they believe. Yes, religious indoctrination is that strong. A religious friend of mine that I've known since we each were 12 or 13 has a different approach. He seems to have went to softer Evangelical views but he still wants to "get me back to god" most of the time. When he persists I make him appear foolish because I have studied the bible in depth. Most of this interaction with him is on the phone. He has this habit of comparing politics today to events in Revelation. It's almost like tracing aliens and UFO's that might have been involved in the JFK murder. I'm not sure what the Easter Bunny had to do with it. This is about the most of my involvement today. I painfully avoid people and most of my family and only see my daughters on special occasions.

That's about it. Evangelicals know they are losing the battle religiously so they throw in immoral Trump and claim "god is using him." Then I read they are saying god is "going to give them one more chance" before the "end times" and that seems to be Trump also. One more chance at what? Their god keeps giving little children cancer and how does that play out? Ridiculous claims by ridiculous people. I'm ashamed to say I was once one of them.

With me it was just time and finally watching a Jerry DeWitt video on You Tube. With a similar past I understood him fully. Today I look back and admit the book of Job is a good one. God and the devil have a bet. The best of all is also that book of Genesis with the garden, Adam and Eve, and a talking snake. (serpent.) Look at the part incest played in god's perfect plan, and if you throw all this out there is no need of Jesus at all. It is so ridiculous!

I saw that movie and really liked it. A good and different western. A few days ago I watched " Devil's Gate" and enjoyed it as well. This is a sci fi/ alien film from Canada. The DVD was just released in June and it stars Amanda Schull.

Today I met someone in person from this site. It's nice to know like minded people live close.
