I have a question regarding shoes and shoe soles.
DenoPenno comments on Jun 2, 2019:
Get some new shoes. I wear New Balance with a diabetic insert. Depending on your location you can get them for $150 or less and the shoe store will help you with professional fitting. Some shoes cost more than this but most doctors say these are good enough. I have the kind with 2 velcro straps on each shoe and I will not wear them with laces.

DenoPenno comments on Jun 2, 2019:
My ongoing battle with gravity is similar to yours and I blame it on my neuropathy. I'm no longer sure on my feet and wear New Balance shoes with a diabetic insert. A complication is that my feet tingle. I have to be very careful or what you are reporting happens to me. About 6 years ago I climbed trees like an ape, walked on the roof of my house, and even climbed my TV antenna tower. Hard to do this without proper feeling in your feet. If cops ever wanted me to walk a straight line I would have to pass. For me it is no longer possible.

This is so sad. LA rat infestation and homelessness [latimes.com]
DenoPenno comments on Jun 2, 2019:
Being homeless is not mental illness although some do end up there also because of despair. Being homeless is caused IMHO by people believing the lies of financial institutions who have you taking out more loans than you can repay. Once you are on the streets and homeless the living conditions are right for the spread of disease. Vermin become a big problem and they carry disease. Some want to tackle this by giving the homeless a house. That seems like too close to how theirs got taken away to me. Greed is causing unpayable debt that causes homelessness. I'm sure it is not the only reason but it is a great big part of it. Vermin infestations caused great concern in our past and nobody knew what the cause was. Today we know but does anybody care?

It is precisely because this is an allegory that I do not worry about it. I do worry about getting out of Trumpworld but this fascism is going on because no one knows what to do. We are at a point that globalization is no longer working. The experiment is now to see what will work in a world where money and the making of money at any cost is the only value to those who have power. How will the populace except this is a part of the experiment.

DenoPenno comments on Jun 2, 2019:
I'm more of a "watcher" in life. That's what I have turned into. I want to be comfortable and yet see what drives others and why they are driven, etc. The older I get the harder it is for me to understand people. We seem to think that life is "all about us." Surprise! It really is not. Here is a clue. You are the product and everyone wants to sell you. Recently one of my cell phones wants me to go to websites and look at shit. It never did this before, but I am not surprised. So many things in life today are a distraction or a diversion and it's all about making money. No, not you making money. Other people making money and Reality America is full of lies.

What is your response to evil and suffering?
DenoPenno comments on Jun 2, 2019:
We create evil. In the bible there is a verse that says god creates both good and evil but most of us know there is no god. That concept comes out of our minds. Now I am brought back to "we create evil."
I've posted this before but every time I do I get berated for doing so.
DenoPenno comments on Jun 2, 2019:
They are meaningful words in so much as we ourselves give the words meaning. My best example would be to imagine a scene inside a church where the preacher claims everyone is there believing and of the same frame of mind. This is not true. Regardless of the subject people are not all thinking the same. Now imagine a couple out under the stars and looking up at the sky. They may have just had sex and both be smoking cigarettes. One asks the other "are you thinking what I am thinking?" As humans we do such things and ask these silly questions but it is impossible. Even if the very question takes them both back to an earlier event they are NOT thinking the same thing. So, you can imagine god as "dog" or claim that you do not know what believers are talking about in using the names they do for their deity all you want to. Evidence would show that you have about as much understanding on this as anyone else does. Religious ideas and names were never an absolute. Even when people claim they are we are not all thinking the same things.

I'm not sure about the "god part" of our brain but for many years I thought I had a guardian. An invisible presence that would help and protect me. DenoPenno comments on Jun 2, 2019:
Congratulations! This journey involved a lot of study for me and that study was the bible. The writings inside came together officially some 300 plus years after Jesus. The book contradicts itself because the many smaller books inside were never meant to be bound together as one. "Early church fathers" is a term put on people 300 or so years after Jesus, and Josephus was not a contemporary. Paul is credited with writing two thirds of the New Testament and he never knew or met Jesus. Beyond that, the man could never tell whether he was "in or out" of his body when he received his great teachings. I look back and it is so hard to imagine people who follow this. Some claim I have not tried other religions. Why would I need to? So called holy writings abound and there is no proof of gods or of gods wanting to get in touch with you. The question is more like why do we want so desperately to invent a god? Good luck to you in your journey. Remember also that we make our own luck. :)

Our lifestyles today create both anxiety and depression. We are told that we should win and that we will win. Everything is pushed at us in this manner today. It should be plain that not everyone will win. Things like this happen in a world where we have become the product. Then we have drugs both legal and illegal. On TV you find constantly that drug companies are being sued because of wronghful death. On the illegal end of this we see that everyone wants that higher high. Drug makers are adding Fentanyl and causes overdose and death for many. Look at the wrong thinking our society is creating. It's all about money. The love of money.

Yes, it is total bullshit. I seldom do bible quotes but here is one. Ecclesiastes 9:5 explains it all. DenoPenno comments on May 30, 2019:
You have only been a non-believer for about 2 years so getting frightened and going back to "prayer mode" is a form of protection. Not that it ever worked, but you thought it worked and that was why you did it in the first place. As for voices, I would not be worried unless you have some sort of ongoing dialog that involves other voices. In other words, if you hear voices and it appears you are carrying on a conversation of some sort. Prayer is not like that. If we flip TV channels or run through radio stations we hear voices. Being tired and hearing such things in your head can be normal and fixed by simply getting a little sleep. If you have an "invisible friend" or your neighbors dog is telling you to kill people you have a real problem. I'm not sure that having Schizophrenia in the family is a real reason to worry about anything. I know such a family and only one person in that family has it. This is the best the family members themselves can figure out looking back on their history.

A lot of things that TRump and crew are upset about here fell into the realm of FBI and other departments to investigate. This got going well with the "Steele Dosier." Look it up as this is involved and came from British intelligent groups. No, Hillary did not "pay for it" as some claim. Her and Obama were aware of it along with many others. Trump is pushing on past the 2 year mark now still blaming Obama and Hillary for anything that he can. When will he shut the hell up and do something? He now has Barr into investigating the investigators and Barr has found an attorney in New York to take this up. Yes, the attorney is a Republican. He is thinking up new stuff again on this 3 million votes because it seems to be eating him alive! Of course, that is only one subject. Look around and you will find sooo much else that trump is worrying his little brain about. He Tweets at 3 AM. I don't and I'm also not sending e-mail or chatting at that time either. Poor Donnie. DenoPenno comments on May 29, 2019:
I remember little children singing "yes, Jesus loves me" but nobody quoted a verse for that. They just wrote a song instead. My stepdad always said "Jesus loved you this much" and he held his arms out as if he was crucified. The argument here is whether nails through his hands would have held him on the cross. Later in pictures and movies we see that Jesus has nailed hands and he also has ropes around his wrists to hold him up. Believers will do anything to put Jesus on the cross. Catholics are good at leaving him there.

I'm sure they wondered what happened to you after death. Not that we should want to die, but people are very much afraid of dying. If I try to study philosophy and other religions does that change the fact that gods have never written anything for you? If I follow the bible into 300 AD and see how it was decided what to put together and why, I've learned a lot. Then we get into that New Testament with 2 thirds of it's writings credited to a man who never met or never knew Jesus. Bible study takes you right out of the ministry and Christianity. BTW, "early church contemporaries" were not that at all. They fall in there somewhere at the 300 AD mark or just beyond.

DenoPenno comments on May 29, 2019:
All true. Isn't it so wonderful that your religion becomes a "relationship." What this means is you can lie and tell your friends how much you talk to invisible Jesus and invisible god and how much they talk back. I know a man who says he talks to Jesus this way every day and "Jesus talks back." The thing is, I would not want such a person in positions of power. You never know what his Jesus might tell him. If this was not your religion you would be locked up somewhere.

It gets very personal when you go to Dallas, Texas for the idiotic killing of a black man shot inside his own apartment. Amber Guyger is the former police officer who did the killing and media has went so far as to say "she shot and killed her neighbor." What a crock! Supposedly she claimed to have thought this man was in her apartment and they live on separate floors. How would that make them neighbors? DenoPenno comments on May 27, 2019:
I get these daily but not on the same scale you do, I also have a regular cell line that is NOT associated with my name in any way. That doesn't stop them. My calls started coming in in 2015 and have increased ever since, some even going on into my Spectrum landline. I get AI phone calls so clever that you would swear it is a real person. What messes them up totally is giving all the wrong answers. The AI gets confused and hangs up. One that I get more and more is similar to "this is Eric calling you on a recorded secure line to talk about" - fill in the blank here because there are so many. It's also at this point that the caller hangs up.Someone wants to know if your number is real and active. It also appears that the call is trying to direct you to say certain words like "yes." I can only assume this is for future patch work in which they can splice something together to prove you told them they could steal your money. Some of these callers ask you outright if you can hear them alright. You know they want to hear you say "yes." Confuse them and confuse the AI. Just say "no, there's a buzzing on the line. They hang up instantly. These things happen because we have become the product and so many others want our money.

The bad thing is that in every one of them YOU have no life. All you have is servitude to something invisible and imaginary, and this is supposed to make you happy.

DenoPenno comments on May 26, 2019:
Leave it to Catholics to claim their love of life by denying a woman control of her own body because "abortion is murder" and then kill millions in third world countries by also denying condom use. It makes more sense to them to "be fruitful and multiply" rather than to stop the spread of HIV. Isn't religion just grand.
Do you remember Cosmos with Carl Sagan?

Have you ever been annoyed by just the sight or voice of a person?
DenoPenno comments on May 26, 2019:
YES! 45 makes me most annoyed and I do not want to hear him or listen to him. He's a liar and a conman.
Did Billy Graham do anything that injured our society?
DenoPenno comments on May 26, 2019:
He spread belief in an imaginary man that you had to give your life to and serve forever. His ideas of "conversion" were manipulated for fame and fortune.

Are We Living in an Ancestor Simulation? ft. Neil deGrasse Tyson | Space Time - YouTube
DenoPenno comments on May 26, 2019:
AS SIMULATIONS BECOME MORE AND MORE REAL IS IT POSSIBLE THAT WE ARE IN A SIMULATION RIGHT NOW? This is how it starts folks. Looks to me like the first thing we have to proven is whether the simulation itself is able to think. This seems doubtful. It appears to me that the only ones capable of thinking are the humans who produced the simulation and that they themselves are not thinking very well. The only thing I see that comes even close to ideas of ancestor simulation is the diehard belief that mankind has in gods.

DenoPenno comments on May 25, 2019:
AOC will have them jumping through hoops and lying about her and situations for a long time. Right wing talk radio wants to make her look stupid all the time. Then they give you the "evidence" that if you believe it will make you look stupid. I have never seen a video that made Trump look smart or sane.
Yesterday I noticed an IM from my cousin through messenger on FB.
DenoPenno comments on May 25, 2019:
His attitude about the punishing is shared by many others in so many different ways. Trump supporters want to punish us deep down for not sharing their views. On a You Tube page I saw a post by a man who was asking if Bill Maher did not have all his money would he still have the same ideas. I once worked at a factory where a man was really upset that he had never won our "paycheck bingo" and he had played 10 times. We are despicable! I play the lotto most weeks and at 72 I have not won yet. Do you know why this is? It is because I have not won yet!

I live by most of that. It makes sense to me. So far I have not come to the end but things are often burdensome. One burden is not having a companion of like feelings during this journey.
Happy bank holiday weekend for all the Brits. Is it a holiday where you are?

This is why America has so few non-war years. We have become an oil company with an Army. One excuse used for invasions is that we are giving them our democracy. They need badly to learn about George Washington.
Tribalism: An exploration of the mechanisms that drive tribalism - and that offer a way out of it.
DenoPenno comments on May 24, 2019:
We are all tribal. Us v. Them drives our lives in work, play, and TV shows and movies. I have tried to find ways out of it. I am moving right along but for the most part we are creatures of habit. We keep trying to do the same damned things.
As a freethinker I don't believe in life after death.
DenoPenno comments on May 24, 2019:
Does the light bulb have any power once the electrical supply is shut off? Better yet, that light did not go anywhere as it was simply a manifested reaction to applied processes. Light a match and see the fire, then blow out the match. Did the fire go anywhere? No. It was simply a chemical reaction in the first place. One problem is that we dream and we do not understand sleep. We can do anything in dreams so therefore it is easy for mankind to imagine that they have a "soul." This is silly. You do not have anything except for life. Even in the Buybull it says you "became a living soul." I can only assume you can also be a dead soul as well. At this point all of the believers enter in and start lying to you. They just keep making it up.
When you were a kid what did you think?
DenoPenno comments on May 24, 2019:
It took me years to question any of it because it seemed that all of the adults believed in a god long after they stopped believing in Santa. Both good and bad adults claimed to believe in a god, so I assumed it must be true. Naive as it is I find this to be the same attitude that keeps people going to church today. People want to believe because people want to belong.
Todd Starnes Sold Us a War on Christianity. We Bought It. - Christ and Pop Culture
DenoPenno comments on May 24, 2019:
Of course we bought it and it is a warped story. It is always true for the Christian because most of them remember from the bible that Jesus said "you will be persecuted for my sake." It isn't far at all to go from a War on Christianity to a War on Christmas. If you are a good Christian at all, or think that you are, it is common Christian logic to believe that you are persecuted.

DenoPenno comments on May 23, 2019:
To many this is religious freedom. Making fun of gays or LGBTQ is a sport that says openly that you are "all man" in many cases. Just yesterday I made a delivery where 4 or 5 men are discussing this and telling crude jokes. Religion is always at the bottom of this because the jokes go back to "Adam and Steve."

DenoPenno comments on May 23, 2019:
Would most people have an aversion to abortion? Yes. Is abortion used as birth control? No. People that are close to batshit crazy on this issue listen to all the lies and opt for every baby to be born regardless of individual facts. As usual, they make up the facts. Are there any efforts at all to take care of these babies that people want so desperately to be born? None at all. Not even a suggestion. So much for knowing right from wrong. So much for Family Values and the GOP.

DenoPenno comments on May 23, 2019:
Trump does have a reason and he is upset. Looks like banks are starting to turn over his financial records. Poor Donald is afraid he might be un-done. The IRS will be next and it's all because of those pesky Democrats. Anyone remember when Trump was a Democrat? How about when Obama or George W. Bush got pissed off and called in their personal attorneys. Let's go back to the Nixon lawyers saying you cannot prosecute a sitting president. Yes, Trump brought Reality TV to the White House. It's one of the few things he knows how to do.

What if I’m atheist not Agnostic? Just asking, to stimulate conversation.
DenoPenno comments on May 23, 2019:
You can be agnostic about your atheism or atheistic about your agnosticism. I might not believe and then I might. I might not believe at all but I could believe under certain circumstances. Maybe I just believe some things that I am not telling you. Then we have started our own denominations. :)
Why do people believe untrue things?
DenoPenno comments on May 22, 2019:
This man has some interesting points. As for flat Earthers, I have flown in planes and I also build over the air TV antennas. If you understand anything about these things you will know more about the curvature of the Earth.
