I hear ya. I drive and deliver auto parts for a living and one small town I'm in has a unique sort of "church." The building is like an office suite and it reads "NHIM." It seems the basic idea is that everything is about Jesus and are you NHIM? I've heard this idea before and ones that go for it say Jesus is all that matters. How thoughtfully ignorant of them. Writings we have about the man were written long after his time and not written by those whose names are on the books. The names are just to give the writing some authority.
How many members on here are openly atheists in the bible belt? And are you treated differently?
DenoPenno comments on Apr 28, 2019:
In mid Missouri I am treated somewhat differently but I don't really care. I do care enough to keep it toned down at my workplace though because that bunch is highly religious. You know, like they even gave us $15 extra for Easter. What a biggie!
So instead of wasting my time going to church today I picked up my yard

As for suicide there are probably many reasons to do it, but so far I have not been confronted with any that make sense to me.
The Power of Prayer
DenoPenno comments on Apr 26, 2019:
This would be a good place for those who think they can pray somebody back to life to practice. We would not need to do this if we had Elisha's bones today. According to the OT somebody was thrown into a grave that had Elisha's bones in it and they came back to life. Those who believe every word of their Buybull most likely have for gotten this.

DenoPenno comments on Apr 26, 2019:
This was no problem in 1915 but is a great big problem today. I view people as people and not according to color. Many people try to tell me "how black people are." They are totally wrong. Differences do not come along because of skin color. None of this makes the brain different. In my Kenyan ex I saw differences that would be tribal but nothing related to skin color or race. Most of us can see this same thing in the Irish and others as well.
Hello everyone.
DenoPenno comments on Apr 26, 2019:
Marrying a Muslim has certain risks and today it would be similar to when a Baptist married a Catholic several years ago. The main problem from your point of view would be that you both marry and get along and you feel that she is giving up some of her belief for yours. This probably is not happening. What if she felt the same way about you? This is where your basic ideas will clash.
Maine lawmakers vote to remove religious and philosophical exemptions from vaccine requirements - ...
DenoPenno comments on Apr 26, 2019:
Vaccinations should never be mandatory but everyone should know the consequences of not being vaccinated. In some cases you might not be able to travel or attend meetings or classes if you had a certain disease and that just makes common sense. Children should not be given vaccinations at too young of an age, but I have had all of mine as recommended for the last 72 years.

DenoPenno comments on Apr 25, 2019:
Certainly Trump has wrecked the office. A man I know says the way to handle illegals crossing our borders is to shoot them dead as they cross and let the bodies lay where they fall. He is OK with it because he thinks Trump would be OK with it. Then in Arizona we had a self appointed vigilante group rounding up illegals. It recently came out that the leader had plans of killing Hillary and Obama. The Orange Turd endorses this sort of crap by not addressing it at all so he will appeal to his base. Then his supporters in government want to surround him and protect him at all costs because they enjoy being in power. Donald Trump should have been removed way before anything went this far. It's appalling how so many claim you cannot remove a sitting president. This is all a mockery of law and our Constitution.

DenoPenno comments on Apr 19, 2019:
You may have some very fine points here that are totally true. I'm still concerned about a remark made by Trump Jr. early on about money when he said the family did not need money because they got all they needed from Russia. I'm taking Trump Jr. at his word on this and he most likely knows where the money is coming from. Follow this on into talks of a Trump Tower in Moscow that went on into 2016 and Trump's election and I see a problem. You and I can do this but not POTUS. You and I can borrow from or be in business with Russia in many ways, but not POTUS. Donnie did not care about the Constitution, of course. He is reluctant to release tax returns because his true wealth and ventures would be revealed. Not only would Russian ties come out but the true nature of Trump money structure set up by Fred Trump might be challenged. Not only would this cause lawsuits from the present and on into Trump's death, it would hound the family the same way forever. The problem is that was ignore this and go on as if nothing is happening. Trump is soft on Russia and maybe we know why. If any of the above was involvements of Bush or Obama their presidencies would not stand and all would be un-done.

Then I read of the teen female suicide who was a point of interest to the FBI because she was obsessed with the shooting at Columbine that happened 2 years before she was born. People are insane!

The problem with the people of the whole world is that everyone is jealous. You can see this in every group at every level. Groups with higher income than you are jealous of groups higher on the chain than they are. To manipulate and cause trouble whether to excite or control or both, all you have to do is stir up things in a particular group. Trump does this all the time. The lower groups have religion and Klansmen. Whether you belong to the Klan or not you know that you have to be better than that other guy with a darker color. You think history proves it because his race was once your slave. You are pissed that you no longer have slaves to do your work and you start to make up stories. In fact, your ancestry had a pure white race. You are too stupid to see that there never was such a thing, but you know about pedigrees and you have bred horses and dogs. I know some who don't think I should have a place to live. Jesus Christ, I live in a mobile home and they are broke on Wednesday and still live with Mommy. Some for the second or third time.

Correct. Recently in other social media a believer told me I am "in denial." This was his take on my replies to the entire god question. His god is the biblical god that he thinks I am in denial of. He doesn't say much more when I ask him to show me proof of what he thinks I am in denial of. Faith blinds people and it means very little. In a religious sense faith and hope are pretty much the same thing.
What about segregated by design where you live?
DenoPenno comments on Apr 14, 2019:
Very interesting video. As a young pre-teen I lived in St. Louis on 11th and 13th Streets not so far from the AB brewery. We rode streetcars to get to Cherokee and other areas for shopping. I believe Ferguson was one of these also, but it was further and always about 50/50 racially. As for the whole segregation issue I once heard a preacher say that god intended for the races to be separated. That's why blacks were in far off areas like Africa. Apparently both her and her god were too stupid to know that mankind would invent boats and airplanes.

How (and Why) Americans Were Taught to Hate Atheists
DenoPenno comments on Apr 13, 2019:
Nice post. I'm old enough to remember Ike and all that went on in the 1950's. I was young but knew the politics behind this later on because I study those things. Obviously America was "godly" while the communists were the opposite, and the "commies" were the bad guys. Everybody knew that you had to have good and bad guys. The bible had this and it just made sense. Theists to this day believe in some divine purpose that you have in your life. This makes you special and sets you aside from everyone else. Of course you are a white Evangelical. Trump and his friends still live in 1950 and this is one of the main problems. The cure is right around the corner. It's almost time for a lot of these bastards to die off. As white Americans lose power it will be interesting to see "the Amerigod" die a timely death.

DenoPenno comments on Apr 12, 2019:
I'm not surprised a bit but he needs to follow the law. What this corrupt administration is saying is that "we are in power now and we will do anything to stay in power." There must be a few dealings in those tax returns that most Americans would object to.
Hi all.
DenoPenno comments on Apr 12, 2019:
Before putting them to death I would need proof beyond a doubt that they did commit the crime. There are extenuating circumstances to many killing crimes but I do not believe that anyone can be rehabilitated when they have openly commited murder. If you cannot justify the murder in some way, you at least know that the killer will not kill again.

I am deeply troubled by the virulent efforts of the anti abortionist movement to criminalise women ...
DenoPenno comments on Apr 12, 2019:
I hope so as well. Such legislation comes about when you have religion in your politics and all it does is make criminals out of normal people. This in no way stops abortion and does tremendous harm to women's health issues. Nonsense liked this happens when people assume that abortion is birth control, which it is not.
I know that I'm going to get a lot of hate for this but for anyone who has followed me on Facebook ...
DenoPenno comments on Apr 12, 2019:
I'm pro abortion in the sense of being pro choice but not in the make believe sense. What I mean here is this. Abortion is not birth control and nobody is allowing a child to be born while a doctor and mother decide whether or not to kill it. Just not happening. This is all talking points of the right. Women should have control of their own bodies. Am I in favor of the death penalty? Let's put it this way. If the person really did the crime in which it was decided to put them to death and the evidence is plain and outstanding, it would be safe to say that this killer is not going to kill again if they forfeit their life. Why should we house and feed them forever? You cannot rehabilitate people who commit murder.
Lou Dobbs Eats Crow, Issues Correction for Inaccurate Claim About Trump’s ‘Soaring’ Approval ...
DenoPenno comments on Apr 12, 2019:
I see no soaring approval ratings. What I see is a fever that is spreading because of a madman. Among other things, how many billions do we have to spend at our border with Mexico in order to catch, separate, and imprison everybody? At some point we will run out of money long before the border runs out of people. This madness increases as Trump supporters have been overheard to say that we should be there at the border mowing them down with machine guns as they cross and just let their bodies lay there. I have actually heard that a few times. Have we all become insane?
For those of you who have been focusing your anger and discontent at Trump the past few years, it is...
DenoPenno comments on Apr 12, 2019:
This is so very true. What Trump has done is silently give support to the crazies and racists both in and out of government. This is why KKK and Nazis want to run for office more and more, white supremacists become more vocal, so called average people call up to report black people swimming, bar-b-queing, or loitering in their own hotel, etc. These are the things we have to fix because we are seeing the enemy and the enemy is us! The real problem is that this effect is going worldwide. There is so much to un-do. This is all so much bigger than Agolf Twittler.
Is anyone else slightly offended by the fact that the Life of Jesus is on the "History" channel?
DenoPenno comments on Apr 11, 2019:
Very little history on that channel these days. They have caved in to ratings instead.

Some say I am terrible for this but the gay couple should have simply found another person to bake their cake. Move on and find another cake baker. No lawsuits and no government involvement.

DenoPenno comments on Apr 11, 2019:
There is very little history on the History Channel. They also have shows about aliens and a new one about Project Bluebook that is about as made up as the X Files. I know this because I studied Bluebook and read all about it. The TV program is a sci fi drama. Back to Jesus, I find it totally amazing that people would assume he had this remarkable interview with Pilot. Assuming Jesus really did exist we have no proof that the two men would have spoken the same language or would have known the language of the other. This is in the scripture because of the supposed importance of Jesus. In reality Pilot would never have cared to talk with anyone sent to the stake that so many now call a cross. Keep in mind that scriptures as we know them today came to us some 300 years after Jesus. The early church was Catholic and there was some importance in "The Sign of the Cross." There was a movie about this. After all, how would one make the sign of the stake?
I think it would be a good exercise for us atheists and agnostics to define the so-called God we ...
DenoPenno comments on Apr 11, 2019:
A rather non-religious man at my work told me yesterday that he believed in god. I surprised him by asking which one. He told me the biblical god. Then I asked him why he left all the other gods out when he made that choice. He really did not know, so I told him maybe this was the god his parents had. Then I bid him good day and left because I had already clocked out. I do not deal with functions or attributes but this is how I deal with people who claim they are believers. I want to cause others to think.
Which has a higher probability?
DenoPenno comments on Apr 11, 2019:
I'm not into sports because I want a movie or series instead. Of course no gods exist. I do have proof of sports.

This is funny but the actual creation date for the earth is 6PM Saturday the 23rd of October, 4004 BC. If you don't believe me just ask Bishop Ussher. You can figure anything out using the bible.
Just so everyone knows Charles Dugal airport Paris is the most ass backwards airport in the world.

Never been to that one but I wasn't happy one time with Heathrow. Looking back at it now I guess they are doing the best job possible.
