Some good ideas there. I'm type 2 diabetic and I think this happened because the doctors finally put a name on it for me. I eat and drink what I want but I do take their medicine. Metformin so far. No insulin and I don't measure anything. Pre-diabetic is like "pre-thunder storm" or maybe "pre- house fire." Let's try "pre-heart attack." I'm a creature of habit who has had this condition for over 5 years. Medicine is making great strides in many directions but I'm hard to convince for just as many reasons. I didn't go to my doctor with a complaint that led to this. Blood work eventually led to this. I'm a man who just doesn't believe that doctor's can see you for 15 minutes once every 6 months and know what ailes you. That means my doctor sees me a half hour every year and maybe 4 or more people are involved in my blood work. BTW, I'm like a 250 lb. gorilla and used to work out with weights all the time. I admit my diet has never been adjusted to compensate for working out less today, and that I do have a big waist. I wear 44 inch pants. My waist needs to be 10 inches smaller.

This could be some real trouble for both of you. In 2005 I still considered myself Christian when I married my ex. She still claims to be a believer today but she got to a point of telling me that what I was saying to her when I de-converted sounded true. By 2012 I was fully atheist. There will never be any going back because gods are imaginary. If you both keep anger out of the picture your husband and yourself can get along. It's a matter of whether you think your best life is here while you are alive OR someplace in the sky or another dimension when you are dead.** It really is that simple.** Once you have people crying and praying for you because they don't want you to burn in hell, or concern about the children in an "unequally yoked" marriage it might be too late. You can see at this point that the church and the preacher is controlling the entire situation. The both of you need to be in control of your own lives for the sake of your family. This means all 4 of you and maybe more if others are born. My best advice is stay away from Evangelicals like Pentecostal or Baptist. They live in a world that was not real over 2000 years ago and it is also not real today. Try a Lutheran or maybe a UU church. Make sure the church you go to is not going to have people claiming "god spoke to them" and somebody running around showing their ass while others claim they have the holy ghost. None of that crap is in the bible but people want to take everything so personally. Live your life for now even if the whole family goes to church. Do not get suckered into being told this is a "training ground" and your life starts once you are dead.

Bible study was a big help in my de-conversion. I tell people all the time that the books of the bible were independent books. They contradict and disagree because they were not meant to be bound together as a story from beginning to end. You cannot tell believers that. Constantine wanted certain texts bound and used and others that seemed ridiculous to not be included. One common text would then work for all and the bogus books would soon be gone. The way it worked out left everyone with one great big bogus book.

When nutjob opinions incite other nutjobs to possibly do people harm we have to take action. Jones is making a living off his ravings and others that believe him may end up killing someone. This means he should be stopped and so should his bogus material. This should be done to protect the people. What bothers me is that his trial might push us towards a "hate speech" area and we end up losing much of our free speech because of it. Not everyone has mental or emotional maturity enough to handle Jones' Material. A forum to speak is one thing but Jones is likely to end up getting innocent people shot. He should be censored for the same reasons that we do not allow people to openly say that someone should kill the president.

He will be voting in November!

I cannot forgive and forget but I do not hold grudges. Let me explain. IF you do something that others think I should "forgive and forget" I take this something as proof of how you are. I will always remember it as such. Whatever it was, I won't be able to change that about you. It may happen that you learn from the experience and move forward yourself, and it may not. As far as anger goes, I might flare up very angry at something but I will come down off of that just as quickly as it was when the anger rose. My reasoning here is that you cannot change what is done or un-do it. You cannot "cry over spilled milk" so to speak. With this line of thinking I am NOT the man who punches holes in doors or walls, or punches you. It does not good to do these things.

One of the strangest things to me is the Ark itself looking like a great big boat. Why a boat? Where was it going to sail to? (Which came first?)This is wrong thinking within itself. Imagine a disease germ for a minute. can you imagine a disease that started with a single germ or just two germs? Not too likely in my opinion. These germs probably came about in some way simultaneously. So did primate life and ultimately humans as we know them. We do not know the exact conditions but the biblical Genesis is not needed. It also could never be looked at as true, and if it was not true then there is no Yahweh god or Jehovah god who created everything. What is simply is, and the god who has always existed could likely be the never ending universe itself. I've kicked this around a while and it is my take on things. Is there evidence and does it tell us anything? Not really, but there will always be many things that we do not know.
