Your boyfriend isn't really an agnostic. It sounds like he is religious but wants it his way. People like him are why we have so damned many denominations of Christianity. In my earlier life I wanted to know all things. Christians claim that they know. At least they "know the plan" and know how things are likely to turn out. As an atheist I cannot know. There is no possible way I can know and it is OK not to know. Without evidence I cannot know much of anything.

I've never understood kinky sex. It just isn't for me. I have fantasies but they never were for kinky things. Any drinker has made a fool of himself at least once. I drifted into a pattern to where my every drink was a double shot and I measured the drinks all the same. A lot of people never could tell if I was drunk or not. A fatty liver and a few years later and my drinking changed drastically. I had 3 beers the other night. I have many times I do not drink, and times I want to drink like I used to just never works out. I have whiskey, vodka, and beer in the house right now and none of it thrills me today.

It is all long past now, but my ex that I have children with used to bug me to death. It was all the normal stuff and more. She married again and still bugged me. That marriage lasted 23 years until her man died. These days I try to follow a "bury the hatchet" policy because I know it is best. I even advise her if something bad comes up and I hear of it. Of course I have had experiences. Lots of them. I used to study phenomena. When you believe it and follow traditional teachings of it things seem to happen. If you challenge it and question it with logic fewer things happen. In the end it is a mindset that comes alive when it happens. You may find that the paranormal is something that we do not understand and therefore we help cause it ourselves. Paranormal experiences are much like Evangelical religion. It is all very real while you are a part of it, but it lessens as you slip away from it. For those who continue to be bothered by it, I would say out loud "I do not want to play the game." Near death is not death. Nobody in a NDE really went anywhere. "Soul believers" mostly get this idea from scriptures. A lot of this is because of the idiocy of Saul of Tarsus. My bible talks of man becoming a living soul and it also says the soul that sins shall die. This takes the mystery of that "you have a soul" idea completely away. Many say the soul separates us from the animals, and that animals do not have souls, yet the bible talks of spirit animals as well as people. The soul is an invention of those religious folk who fear death. The idea also furthers a concept of OBE that we humans have. (That's another subject.) Sorry. I cannot buy into ideas of a soul.

I love the country. Spent my formative years in the country and today I'm in a community of about 1200 people and work in a small town. I've also spent 20 years in the Houston, Texas area which is a much bigger town. But I could be happy in Germany, Spain, or Kenya. I would travel more but lack of money prevents it.

Having once been a believer I approach ideas of gods according to the things written about them. How do we know these things are true? We have no way of knowing. There are no proofs of any gods. The biblical god is especially hard to fathom because of the many discrepancies in the books of the bible. This is mostly because there are many books within one big book and they were all written at diferent times on different subjects. The story is more like Victor Frankenstein making his creature. Nail it all down and there is no evidence. No way of proving and backing up the claims. I can no more believe that Jesus brought someone back from the dead than I can believe a man flew up to heaven on a winged horse. Without proof of the many written claims I am done. Still, there are many who say there might yet be a god. Why are you looking for one? Apparently the imaginary being is not caring or looking for you.

Then I'm getting chicken tenders and wedge fries and the woman gives me a tiny bit of fries. Very small ones. I called her on it and told her I wanted the big ones. She says they won't fit the plate. That was when I told her they were there to be sold so she must have to remove the lid for the big fries to fit, huh? How stupid. I got my fries. My family always brought me down. They were too controling. Today I am a basic homeboy even though I work with the public Monday thru Friday. Dad is in a nursing home and my mom is dead. My daughters try to understand how I am and why. Sometimes I visit them or eat with them but mostly I am a recluse. How would I celebrate Easter? I'm not religious. OK, my kids say they are but their Easter is all about candy and baskets for their kids and maybe a meal. I find some of these things interesting. Bible believers claim prophesy is a big "proof of the bible" events. Wrong. The Gospel writers were not eye witnesses and the writings came later than we first thought. Some even after 70 AD. This meant the destruction of the temple was written about as a fact anf not prophesied the way people had thought before. Also, the NT writers wanted to tie Jesus in with all of this so they chose verses in the OT that often had nothing to do with the claim. The attempt was to make Jesus the Messiah whether he was or not. Some say this was an effort to help control the Jews in that maybe they would not rebel if they thought they could have killed their own Messiah. Then 300 years later the take on it all was closer to what we have yet today. The problem is, what we have today doesn't make sense. It made more sense the Julio Claudian way. It makes more sense again that preventing uprisings like in 70 AD was the goal. "Two in the bed, one taken and one left" is not a rapture. It's a situation where you get soldiers for a battle.

Without getting all preachery and religous on everyone let me explain "sin" in a simple way like Paul did using archery terms. This is in the NT and Paul illustrates it as an archer shooting an arrow at his target but he "misses the mark." That means he is trying to hit a bullseye and doesn't quite do it. This is why you hear that old preacher saying "we have all sinned and come short of the glory of god." In other words, you mean to do your absolute best at something and you set out to do it but so often we come just a little short of our best efforts. That's it. Sin is not calling someone a bastard, a rat fink, or stealing money, etc. Sin is doing less than the absolute best that we know we should strive for. Most of us try to live a meaningful life.

I don't like snakes. I tell others the joke of me following them through my yard trying to talk to them and all they want to do is get away. (This is my proof of believing Genesis and the talking snake from the bible.) "Talk to me, snake. I know you can talk." I'm starting to develope a fear of heights and climbing. Before neuropothy came along I could climb like a monkey. I'm not as sure footed now.

It just depends. I'm into political activism and once accepted a friend request from a person simply because I knew they were friends with an activist actor. I did this because I really wanted to be in touch with that person and they already had too many friends. Now we are all friends. There are many that I turn down and do not know. Some people on Facebook just befriend everybody.

What do you most like to do during your leisure time?

I'm a self taught computer nerd and use one as normal plus I also use it for music and TV. I watch almost whatever I want sort of like from a big free library. I can make CD's, copy e-books, etc. and I do certain things in the area of political activism. That puts me friends with some important people whom I have nerver met but this at least keeps my bragging down. LOL None of these people are going to hang out with me and I'm not going to get any jobs in the movies, but at least I'm having fun with it and I can share some ideas.

If you could talk to someone that has passed away, who would it be and what would you say to them?

I miss my grandparents most of all. This was my mother's parents and I lived with them during early formative years. Mom always told me that it wasn't true. She said she just let me spend summer vacations with them. The problem with that idea was that others remembered too, and I found early school pictures from there at a later time. I loved my mother but she tried to rob me of these memories, possibly because at that time you would not be considered a good mother if your parents raised your child. By age 9 mom had me back with her again, and she had re-married. It was after mom died that I found my early school pictures, but I went to school with my cousins and they knew the facts of it all along. Part of my issues with mom were that she was wanting to wipe out my early memories. She last tried this with me about a year before she died. I think she had come to believe what she had always told me.

I agree with you totally. What you are describing is the way most people today and they do not realize how easily they can be swindled if texting is all they do. I'm old school and I want to hear your voice. Words on a screen do not do much for me. If they did I could have a girlfriend like Siri or Cortana. Real interaction is done by real people.

I'm all digital these days but I have a CD collection and some of them are CD's I have made myself. I'm able to make a CD as well as a studio could but homemade is burned into the disc while a pro CD is stamped in. Homemade will not last as long. I no longer carry CD's around with me however. Vinyl is the best bet on sound and it is making a comeback. Take care of them and keep the scratches away and you have something of value.

Time displacement is common. At base level, examples of that are you have a fairly quick day as it progresses and others around you complain that the day is going too slow. Last year I totalled out a company truck in a rain storm as I entered the freeway. The truck spun and flipped instantly and I barely had time to imagine all those other vehicles hitting me before it was all over. My truck flipped and bounced off the median cable. The freeway was totally empty and I was facing the wrong way without a single scratch on me. I have also had OBE's but was never able to do that on demand. After one such OBE years ago I explained things that would not have been known unless the OBE had occured and a person that did know was there to verify it for all of us. At one time I studied such things and was involved in them. Not today though.

This is funny. I used to do a similar thing with an imaginary person saying "good morning" to the "Christ family." The joke would be that they thought the title "Christ" was really a last name. Joseph, Mary, and other bros and sisters were all last named Christ.

How you use your time is your business. I once had a girlfriend who immediately wanted to give me something to do if I turned on the TV. I was not signalling that I had nothing to do. I was signaling that I wanted to watch TV. On into why sports are dumb. My school could not afford uniforms and equipment. That meant touch football and we could not play real baseball. Basketball was the only real game we could play in my school days. We did have a gym outfit. As a result of that I don't care about people hitting a ball with a stick. Running and jumping on top of a guy carrying a ball doesn't thrill me either. I'm not even into European soccer (football) much. Sports just doesn't get any of my time. If they get your time that's great. Remember that how you use your time is totally your business.

I've been on both sides in my lifetime and became liberal for certain about the time I became atheist. Funny thing is, I read most of what you are saying and I thought immediately of the modern GOP. They are the ones I see without valid arguments. Mention Trumpty Dumpty and they change the subject into anything else. One did this with me once and talked about Obama and AIG. WTF? I didn't get it at all. Guns, gun types, ammo, etc. It's true that liberals don't know a lot about them. It might be true that an AR-15 is not an assault weapon also, but what does this mean? That we should give up and say it is OK to shoot our school children. The point you are missing is that nobody wants to take your guns. Liberals don't even want new gun laws. What we want it to bring back some of the older ones with proper gun registration and regulation. Maybe a teen would be less likely to buy a gun at a shop and go kill school children. Some want to argue that knives and rocks could kill people but we are not trying to do anything about them. No, the current issue was brought on by school shootings and not by knives and rocks. This isn't a debate and I don't want to debate. I try to deal with facts on the issues at hand. Like you I remember when both sides of the political spectrum got along well. It would be nice to see that happen again. Anyone that knows me knows that I don't like Trump and I think he is a liar, a bigot, and a conman. I'm being mild here with my feelings for him. On the other hand, John McCain is a Patriot and a war hero. Trump could never be equal to McCain and everyone knows it.

Doctors have told me often of GERD and they give me meds for it, and I say I don't have it. Now they are convincing me of how I should take the meds anyway. OK. On to spicy food. I have liked spicy food most of my life and still eat spicy food without any problems.

It was hard for me to pray even when I was studying to be a preacher. I could pray but it just wasn't real to me for some reason. Then and now it's hard for me to believe people who say "we will be praying for you." I always thought it was lip service only.

Eating out alone?

I have started eating out alone again. Usually I tend to save money but on payday (or thereabout) I might eat out somewhere. I don't mean anything fancy. I like buffet style best in anything, and I don't do nighttime candle light stuff. If I find a hungrry woman I just might take her with me.
