DenoPenno replies on Jan 16, 2019:
The Clinton and Obama card is played to get attention off of Trump and anything being discussed at the time. It's a diversion because the poster can't defend Trump and his administration. Some of us with no answers do not live in the real world.

I’m pretty sure many people here don’t think Jesus was born at all. AD is not generally used any more, the standard is now CE (current era)
DenoPenno replies on Dec 26, 2018:
Common Era and you are correct. When I was in grade school we all thought that BC meant "before Christ" and that AD meant "after death." It was nonsense. As for what year we are really in it depends on what calendar people are using. Do a search on Ethiopia. They are not in 2018.

Sin or not, if yes, why?
Stuttrboy comments on Dec 12, 2018:
The sin of Onan is used a lot to justify that. He was cursed for spilling his seed on the ground rather than impregnating his brothers widow.
DenoPenno replies on Dec 24, 2018:
Exactly so as it was his job to impregnate his brother's widow. The "sin" is therefore one of greed. If Onan had of obeyed his brother's resulting children would of had an inheritance. The church world makes it all more about the seed on the ground. They need to study more. Onan was a greedy man and would inherit all his brother had unless his brother also had children.

Deconstructing SIN.
DenoPenno comments on Dec 5, 2018:
Paul defined "sin" as "missing the mark" when he compared it to archery practice when you are shooting an arrow at the bullseye of the target. I assume the bullseye is "the mark" that you are shooting for. I won't get into this any more than that because I'm not teaching Sunday School.
DenoPenno replies on Dec 5, 2018:
@rcandlish I think you missed the whole thing. "The mark" is wording that came out of Greek language for what we would call a bullseye. Paul used the example of target practice and how the goal is to hit that bullseye. Sometimes, try as we may, that does not happen. "Sin" is missing the mark. It has nothing to do with abortion, drinking, smoking, or any individual thing a person might do. To sin is to not follow god's law even though we might be trying to. Like the bullseye we are trying to hit, we just keep trying.
