Recently a person got my cell number and was so happy that now we could text each other. Why? I've even seen ads from women wanting to have a "text buddy." Words on a screen do not excite me. Exactly so as it was his job to impregnate his brother's widow. The "sin" is therefore one of greed. If Onan had of obeyed his brother's resulting children would of had an inheritance. The church world makes it all more about the seed on the ground. They need to study more. Onan was a greedy man and would inherit all his brother had unless his brother also had children.

DenoPenno comments on Dec 5, 2018:
Paul defined "sin" as "missing the mark" when he compared it to archery practice when you are shooting an arrow at the bullseye of the target. I assume the bullseye is "the mark" that you are shooting for. I won't get into this any more than that because I'm not teaching Sunday School.
DenoPenno replies on Dec 5, 2018:
@rcandlish I think you missed the whole thing. "The mark" is wording that came out of Greek language for what we would call a bullseye. Paul used the example of target practice and how the goal is to hit that bullseye. Sometimes, try as we may, that does not happen. "Sin" is missing the mark. It has nothing to do with abortion, drinking, smoking, or any individual thing a person might do. To sin is to not follow god's law even though we might be trying to. Like the bullseye we are trying to hit, we just keep trying.

Yes, this is true, but I never did believe that modern Rabbi's did circumcisions with a pencil sharpener.
SPECULATE ON WHAT THIS MEANS - My ex and I are still friends and frequently go out together.
DenoPenno comments on Dec 3, 2018:
It probably means something. Understand that I'm still friends with my ex also. I would like to have the relationship with her that you have with yours, but if I did she would probably ask me to buy her something. I miss the days we went mall shopping and later had dinner in the mall.
