@GoldenMean It's a religious thing coming from years of being taught that Christmas was a birthday for Jesus. Even if they do not really believe it, they think "Happy Holidays" is taking away from Jesus and the bible.

A strong feeling of being watched is also known as paranoia. As a heightened awareness a certain amount of paranoia is normal. Go beyond that and you have a problem.

I can agree with you easily. Many I know think that I should now hate my ex wife because she left me. Sometimes people grow apart. The only reason they want me to "hate her" is that she is from Kenya, so now I know my "racist friends." Life gets more marvelous as you go along and learn more things.
