I talk politics and QAnon as to how it goes into politics and possibly why some believe it. My opinion is that they have never studied how our government works and they want things their way. OK, go to Burger King then. I'm dumbfounded by the distraction of talking about years ago in order to explain now. I don't get that. Also, gods have nothing to do with politics and we should get politicians who think otherwise out of government. As for religion, I discuss it because I came out of it. I studied to be a preacher and it was my studies that finally convinced me that it is all made up. There are no gods. If you think otherwise then prove it by demonstration. It cannot be done. I do find religious trolls on here from time to time. Maybe they are dumb enough to think they will convert us. IDK. Using this site as a dating site does not work for me. No longer believing in a deity does not mean you have no interest in religion. Having once been deeply into religion I can see plainly today that there is no evidence for gods. The non-believers that I identify with the least are those who have never had a faith because lots of them still believe in woo. Many things are possible and many things just not proven so far. Woo is not in that list.

When households were able to afford a TV I lived with my grandparents. We had 5 channels at that time but only got 3 of them clearly. Distance and antenna problems were the culprits. TV was not on 24/7 and I remember waiting for channel 5 to come on.

JW's often disassociate with former members for life. It has little to do with hate and is in their scriptures. Other religious groups follow a similar way of doing this. The worst group for doing this is Scientology because they do bring harassment into the picture. The JW's do not.

The ones telling your story will be family and loved ones and others that knew you. Sometimes the stories get told to where it almost becomes myth and legend. I'm sorry to here of your father's passing when you were only 11. This is traumatic at any age. Keep in mind that getting him to medical professionals quickly is important but often will not make any real difference as well. In my area many are buying in to the life flight situation by helicopter. This is and extreme expense if you have no insurance for it. I see it as a scare tactic and it does not interest me. When you die you are dead. The real tragedy is the manner in which you die. I would wish to avoid all physical pain.

In alphabetic order, there is a religious method and a scientific method to acquire knowledge.

Fact vs. value does not cut it in my book. I will take the facts anytime. It is hard for me to see the value of Saul of Tarsus seeing the real Jesus because his claim has no evidence in fact. All it means really is that the man saw this Christian thing and was going to claim it and run with it. Modern believers see it as being wonderful. They are extremely deluded.
