I remember that day well. I was in Texas City, Texas on a service call at the home of a black lady. We were on her porch discussing the ailing clothes dryer when her son came out of the house and said "I think y'all better come inside and look at the TV. They just said Elvis Presley was found dead." We went inside and watched TV for the next hour.

Maybe today we are so afraid of offending. If I am in Walmart and other stores like it people all say "excuse me" when they walk in front of me, beside me, or behind me. This happens if we are within 4 feet of each other. Hey, we all have to walk somewhere. Nobody cut me off or walked into me and I don't own the floor. Sometimes I smile and say there is no problem. Polite is polite but I feel like people are scared to death. As far as back and forth banter I get along with everyone and that includes those who do open carry.

I have issues with insomnia brought on by anxiety and all of this goes into laying in bed aware of things still in my mind. Some of it is exaggerated by a dream state. Doctors want to give you a drug that knocks you out at bedtime but I could not have this. I have to be aware of what is going on. I see films of real events where you are asleep while someone is in your house. I live alone so I would be aware of this quickly. I hear everything even outside. What helps a lot is to not have the TV on as yo lay in bed, and you might have an hour of gentle music playing real low in the background, then shut off on it's own. They do have "sleep music" for this. I think I only woke up 3 times last night, and I have discovered that if you wake up every 2 hours you will have daytime sleep issues also. A good night's sleep is essential.
