I use the word "god" because everyone else does. It is an expression that has nothing to do with a creator. I have not and never will use "dog" to replace it with, as many people do. I don't see the point. Use of the word "god" is similar to use of the words "shit" and "hell." If I say "Jesus Christ" it also has no religious implications unless it is a religious discussion.

Some things can be learned but not like films or novels portray them. Mostly my dreams today express some anxiety that may have been present as I went to sleep. The man is not into politics and not super bright but our split came when he told me in all sincerity that "Trump has done more for us in a short time than all the presidents before him." This happened to us because others wanted our money and also our support. The "products" being created are different models of how they think we would want our world to be. It made money, got some people killed, and also got people like Donald Trump elected. The left is as guilty as the right and once Trump is in power nobody knows exactly what to do any longer. The American Dream is dead. You might work 2 or more jobs and still think it is alive and well, but you are being taken in by both sides. Your conflict might be that you will not admit this. There is no need to forgive. I think this is pushed upon us because of Christianity and the idea that if you do not forgive you may not get into heaven. Often I read of people who claim openly that they forgive the one that murdered their loved one. My first thoughts are "like hell you do!" If it is all about a personal love relationship of 2 people the stories can vary and be different in many ways. The bottom line is always that both of you ended up going in different directions.

Of course it is child abuse. In some parts of America today they have after school people who move in to teach children that they are sinners. This was questioned in court and it was found that they could no longer use school property for this. The Good News Club of the religious right would have your child crying because they have "sinned" and much of America still goes along with it. I personally think that the club and the participating school should be sued to the max.

When most Americans tell you they are against teaching religion in our public schools it is because of our clause for separation of church and state. What we are fighting against is Evangelicals moving in to claim we are really a Christian Nation and what they are pushing is their own brand of religion. In other words, their church and their Sunday School moves right in to become part of public education. This is wrong. Flat out wrong! What would be allowed in teaching about religion is all religions in general, what they are about, and where they came from. In this way religion itself does not dominate our public education. Religion is taught as an historical point and not a "chose you this day which god you will serve" situation. No god will ever dominate the classroom and can never be spoken of as doing so.
