I don't understand the wording in this piece at all but I will reply according to the title "How Did You Change a Bad Habit." As a young teen my cousins and I experimented with smoking. Not unusual. Later in the Army, others there showed me how a cigarette and a beer went together. I then started smoking only when I drank once a week. Getting back into religious roots later, I decided to stop smoking 2 or maybe 3 times "for god." That did not work. You have to stop a bad habit for yourself. Then I learned that if you stop smoking a few days and start again you get higher than a kite for 10 minutes. Oh, boy. Next, I got the flu and could not smoke. Once recovered I started smoking again. About 20 years ago I got the flu a second time and could not smoke. This time around I was smart enough not to pick the cigarettes back up. That's my flawed story of changing a bad habit (actually dropping the habit) through my whole life with it as a thing that controlled me off and on. I do not want cigarettes today and I do not miss them.

However, I was in a grocery store this afternoon and the checkout and I are discussing COVID. She is aware of the new cases in our area and even says her grandparents have it now. I mentioned the hospital in Texas that has an outside tent now for coronavirus victims because the hospital is full. Then a man who was listening spoke up and got into the conversation. The first thing he told me was that the Democrats are doing it. I was astounded and he was serious. I asked him how they are doing this? Trump was doing what others like Kock, Mercer, DeVos, Prince, etc wanted him to do and also quietly doing away with the EPA and other protection organizations that we need. This shows that it's about making of money with no concern for people and their healthcare. I look for, and expect, things like this to be un-done for sure.

I'm not sure that I celebrate Christmas. A better word for me is participate . As a single man today I do not participate in Christmas but I would do so if I had a wife, or had a wife and children. My reasoning is that if it is not important to me it might be important to them. Who am I to tell you what to do about holidays. Keep in mind however that "holiday" comes from the term "holy day." A big celebration because of a holy day. I would go out of my way to inform anyone that Christmas has nothing to do with Christ or a mass and it certainly was not Jesus' birthday. Many argue that I should have a tree and decorations anyway but my argument in return is that I see all the other house decorations and lights just by going outside my door. I might add that i do not give gifts and have asked family and friends to treat me the same, however if one of my daughters is free to fix a big meal for all of us I do attend the dinner to be with family.

Organized religion in my area is nothing more than a club or lodge and those who go to the meetings have friends, companions, and a belief that they are right. I favor heat using water heater type devices that puts hot water in radiators with a fan forced delivery system. It may or may not be cheaper and it might depend on where you live. No steam heat. With that said, I have electric heat in my mobile home and I also have Eden pure heaters I can use. About 2 years ago I got radiator type oil filled heaters and experimented to see if I could get cheaper electric bills. All of these work fine really but I learned a kilowatt is a kilowatt. :)

Rescind every executive order that Trump put his name on. Change foreign policy, go with Paris accords, back NATO, cut military spending, check into the green new deal and Medicare for all. We must also restore the EPA or lose clean water and food along the way. Our country should be set up for "we the people" but the Trump way of doing that is all for millionaires. I named some people to my insurance lady today and she told me they run the country. I said they would like to run the country maybe, but they don't. Her biggest gripe is that we should have "legal immigration." When was it not legal? **Trump spews that Mexico is not sending it's best, they are sending rapists thieves, and killers**. STOP. What we need to wake up to is the fact that nobody is being sent. People are often coming here in fear for their lives and they have dangerous conditions and surroundings. They want a better life. I have to agree that I sometimes use the phrase "thank god." It means nothing to me really but again I'm the guy who never can believe that all these people are "praying for you" even as they say it. We get conditioned into this just by living in our society. Back when Pat Robertson had interest in African diamond mines I'm told he prayed over it and tried to make bargains with his god that he deserved it, etc. Very pathetic. Going back into that last mega Powerball win, I dreamed the winning numbers coming to me on the Starship Enterprise. I played those numbers too.
