That big yellow thing popped out through the clouds briefly this morning, but it has now clouded over again. At least I know it's still there. It's windy as hell, but at least it's not raining, so I won't have to make use of that ark 90 miles north of me after all. Last night, there was music at the craft beer place in the next town up, so first off was coffee, aspirin, and lots of cold sparkling water to try and recover from the lingering effects of the 8.9% blackberry porter featured there last night. Defogged a bit, I walked the dog and heated up lunch (a Thai red curry). It's windy and warm today and will rain (as usual) later on. No work until next Friday, so I'm working on my decluttering project until then.

My experience was similar being a "loner/surfer," especially since I was basically a "holler hippie" in various parts of the South. Out there in the boonies, I, too, indulged in the drugs and music. Glad you chose some musicians who have significant parts of their repertoire that haven't been played to fucking death on classic rock radio. In the experimental spirit of that time, my musical tastes have moved onward into other areas, but I always return to Dylan, the Jefferson Airplane, the Stones, and the Doors.

Sometimes you have to plan shit--for example, if I don't get on the tickets as soon as they become available this Friday, I won't be attending the Marilyn Manson/Rob Zombie concert in Cincinnati in July. When I'm on a road trip, it's a mixture of planning and spontaneity. I have a general route in mind, but when I run across places I like, I stay longer and get to know the place better. My late wife--a real trip Nazi--and I argued about that a lot.

For example, in 2016, yes, tRump handily took my home state of Kentucky; however, there were 628,854 of us who voted for "the other guy" and who will not @Freedompath "fall on their swords" together with the Teanderthals. Bear in mind also that as I look at a 2016 election map, there are plenty of states north of the Mason-Dixon line marked red, including swing states Wisconsin and Michigan.
