Dhiltong comments on Jun 18, 2018:
I think we tend to give way to much credit or criticism to the president for current economic conditions. Granted economic policy definitely shapes the economy but it's such a large system that it can takes years for the full effects of policy to be known. Here in Utah the economy is booming and unemployment is basically nil. This mainly due to construction and new company's moving here. Most of the construction is large projects which were conceived, planned and started well before Trump was elected. And the same thing with the new business moving here, this was all well in the works before Trump.

Kim Jong Un Invites Trump to Pyongyang as Democrats Pray for a Nuclear Conflict - YouTube
Dhiltong comments on Jun 13, 2018:
This guy does have an interesting take on things. I'm all for giving Trump his due credit for this, but there are other players involved in this as well. Remember it was just a few months ago Kim and Trump were trading insults and threatening each other with nuclear destruction. It seems the real turning point here was the Olympics which seemed to really get the ball rolling. Plus Kim met with the Chinese leader and South Korean leader first plus he's only like 33 yrs. old and far enough removed from the Korean Conflict that it probably doesn't carry the same weight as with the previous NK leaders. I feel there's plenty of credit to go around here.

I have to say yes, in that they really exacerbated the problem. Do you think Science will ever discover how consciousness began?
Dhiltong comments on May 31, 2018:
I think what we call consciousness evolved a long with language. The ability to observe the world around us, break it down in abstract components and communicate it to others. Most of us have had pets, mainly dogs and cats that we've been very close to. It's pretty easy to conclude they have basically the same emotional makeup as we do. But we don't regard them a conscience beings. Without the ability for abstract thought they live in a emotional/fantasy world.

Dhiltong comments on May 9, 2018:
I don't agree with your glowing assessment at all. I will give Trump credit for being in office and if the negotiations are successful. But I give most of the credit here to KJU, it was just basically time for this to happen. Their nuclear program was carrying on KJU's father's legacy, a source of national pride and a sense of security from what they perceived as a very hostile U.S.. For a country the size and scope of NK they had pushed their nuclear program as far as they could. I think KJU knew this and being far enough removed from the Korean War and young, decided it was time to go a different direction. What seemed to really get the ball rolling on this was the Olympics. The combined sports teams between the No. & So. really showed the way that cooperation was possible.

Technology is definitely replacing the jobs that machines can do more efficiently and precisely but there will still be plenty of stuff that require the human touch. Look at the human body which a collage of inorganic compounds and living cells and bacterium all working in harmony. Which to divert a bit, brings to mind the biosphere of this planet which exists in the form we have today due to the living organisms on the planet. And how so many so called intelligent people deny that humans can have major effect on that delicate balance.
