After a long and happy career in and around the mining industry I am now retired. I have lived and worked in every mainland state of Australia and in the Northern Territory. I have travelled widely; most recently (and most particularly) in southern Africa and in South America, but also north America and Europe.

My qualifications are in science and engineering. I have a BSc and ME from University of Newcastle and a PhD from University of Queensland. My main intellectual pursuit these days is doing cryptic crosswords.
